Description

Piz Mezdi, at an elevation of 2991 m, is a well-known Swiss jewel covered by amazing flora. This hiking route goes from St. Moritz-Bad through a dense forest where pines and larches stick out and guard the flowers that surround it.

I invite you to join me in a beautiful hiking journey towards Piz Mezdi. Along the way, we will be able to admire the Bernina Massif, one of the tallest mountain ranges in the Alps. We will also get to contemplate several peaks that decorate the Albula Alps and its magnificent Piz Kesch (3,418 m).

While we ascend, we will be tempted to remain silent to let the wilderness take over. Descending on the same route, we could visit the Piz da l’Ova Cotschna (2,715 m) to contemplate the pristine Upper Engadine lakes.

It will take us 7 1/2 hours and 14 km to complete the expedition. You will need to use mountain equipment, good trekking boots, water-proof winter jacket and pants, and sun filter.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice.
