Description

Welcome to Frey, Bariloche where the climbing is spectacular. Alpine mountains, gorgeous lakes and a charming town combine for an amazing Patagonian experience!

Situated roughly 20km from downtown Bariloche, the Frey refuge and climbing routes are elevated at 1700m above sea level and sit aside the prominent Frey spire.

This area is truly wondrous to behold with its pristine mountain terrain. The refuge itself overlooks the green coloured Toncek lagoon and there is Mount Catedral in the background to really put the icing on the cake.

I began my climbing in Frey when I was a child and I started learning to climb in my local school here. As a local it gives me great pleasure to offer you the chance to join me here, where I can show you the local secrets!

Renowned the world over, Frey’s climbing is done on orange granite of excellent quality and is shaped into fissures and other useful climbing formations.

With a variety of routes and level of difficulty you won’t be short of options and we can find what suits you best.

After meeting in Bariloche, our journey to the refuge will be about 3 hours.  A really lovely construction, the refuge is comprised of granite sculpture work, wood panels and a tiled roof.

Accomodating up to 40 individuals and with all the necessary provisions, the Frey refuge offers a comfortable retreat during your climbing trip.

This trip and its programme are flexible so you can select the routes and locations to meet your preferences. Please read the itinerary for more information.

So how does rock climbing in Patagonia’s Bariloche region sound? Epic mountains, pristine lakes, interesting town and most importantly top quality climbing routes! Sign up now,  I can’t wait to show you my home!

The paragliding experience was unbelievable! Getting to see Bariloche and it's surrounding lake and mountains was breathtaking. I would definitely do this again. Pablo was an amazing guide. He was very knowledgable and had a lot of experience paragliding. He gave clear instructions on how to take off and made you feel safe every step of the away. Throughout the trip, he will capture pics and videos for you to take home. He was very friendly and always looked out for your best interest.
