Description
Located among the Dodecanese Islands, off of the western coast of Turkey, in the Aegean Sea, Kalymnos is home to some of the best rock climbing in the Greek islands!
Over the course of our week together, we will explore as much of this mountainous island as we can, making numerous incredible ascents up excellent limestone walls. We will have 5 days of climbing during the week.
There are a variety of options for different climbing all over the island, ranging from beginner climbs to much more challenging ascents. Sport climbing is especially popular here as the island boasts a multitude of excellent routes.
Each day, we will head out to a different point on the island and ascend a steep wall or unique rock formation. Regardless of where we head, we’ll be able to enjoy incredible ocean views from the top.
When we’re not out on the rocks, there will also be plenty of time to check out the beaches and swim in the turquoise-blue water. The island is also known for its excellent wine and seafood, which we will have the chance to sample at the end of each day

Hi! I'm Renato, IFMGA guide from the Dolomites, and I work together with my colleagues Robert, Patrick & Walter (German speaking), Paolo, Matteo, Davide, Giorgia and Luca.
If I'm not available to guide you, one of them will take care of you.
I was born in 1961, I live in Campitello di Fassa, in the Dolomites, together with my family. I have two sons, one is a mountain guide, the other is a ski instructor. I am a certified mountain guide since 1982, an instructor of guides, alpine ski instructor and a Federal coach for ISEF.
Being in the mountains has always been my passion, guiding people, teaching them climbing, mountaineering... during the various seasons of the year. I very much enjoy drawing nice curves in fresh powder snow and discover the charm of the frozen waterfalls.
My curriculum and professional mountaineering is made of many ascents and some openings of routes in the Dolomites and the Alps. I climbed in Yosemite Valley (California), Ben Nevis (Scotland) and Norway, Greece, Spain and Sardinia. I did also several high altitude climbs like Mt Denali (Alaska), Ama Dablam (6828m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Manaslu (8163m), Shivling in India (6545m), Cotopaxi and Chimborazo in Ecuador (5897m and 6310m), Patagonia (Argentina).

Davide was great! Very competent and have the perfect amount of instruction, not too much and not too little, which I loved. I like some degree of independence and Davide sensed that quickly and was able to provide instructions at the right places and gave me enough space to make my own while 100% ensuring my safety. He was super patient, allowing me tome to retrieve my phone from Rifugio Auronzo when I discovered it was missing, when we were nearly approaching Rif Locatelli. This tool an additional 1.5 to 2 hours of his time. I am very grateful for his patience and very grateful that my phone was handed in, at Rif Auronzo. Davide was super competent, gave the perfect amount of instructions and supervision to ensure I completed the via ferrata safely, as it was my first via ferrata. Yet, he gave me enough space to figure out my own steps in the steep sections going up and down, and I really appreciated that.
