Join our experienced rock climbing guide for a two-day crash course in beautiful Squamish, British Columbia!

Over the course of the weekend you will learn various techniques and strategies in a fun and safe environment. You will learn how to crack climb, belay and rappel and have plenty of time to practice each of these.

We will also go over the various technical skills needed to rock climb safely and successfully, including: basic knots, top rope setup, anchor bolting and common crag hazards.

Finally, we will go over guidebook use and route finding so that once you leave, you are fully prepared to go out exploring and rock climbing all on your own.

The goal is to spend as much time on the rocks as possible, so you can get in as much mileage as possible.

However, while we are not rock climbing, there is loads to do in Squamish. This historic railroad boomtown boasts  numerous museums, breweries and restaurants.

About the guide

guide profile img

I am an ACMG Rock Guide, I started guiding because I am very passionate about teaching people the technical side of climbing as well as the emotional achievements that come with challenging yourself and connecting with nature.

I have been climbing since I was a kid with my teddy bear clipped to my harness, and since then I have dedicated years to travelling, rock climbing, mountaineering, and improving my technical skills.

I have climbed El Capitan in Yosemite Valley 4 times, sent 5.12 in 5 different countries, and love combining the techniques from rock types around the world. I am also an Industrial Rope Access Technician and enjoy geeking out on the physics of rope systems.
