Gressoney is small paradise for daily ski tours on the south side of the Monte Rosa massif. It’s also a great spot for ‘hike and ride’ trips.
The Monte Rosa ski area offers lift access to a wide variety of ski touring options. It has slopes for all levels and runs up to 2000 m. All this, in one of the most beautiful landscapes of the Alps.
For this ski touring journey, we will meet in Staffal at 8.30 a.m. After a welcome meeting I’ll check your equipment. Afterwards, we’ll decide our destination depending on the avalanche, snow and weather conditions. Besides, we’ll consider your ski level and your wishes.
As regards the snow conditions, Monte Rosa receives heavy snowfalls during the winter. This is due to the altitude and the weather influence from the south. In fact, from December to mid-March you can find mostly powder conditions. Thanks to the altitude we can also ski spring snow till early May.
Please contact me if you want to be a part of this 1-day ski touring experience in Gressoney and its wonderful surroundings. I’m an IFMGA mountain guide and I come from this area, so I’ll be happy to show the best spots!
If you are looking for more challenging ski tours in Italy, you can take a look at other trips I organize. For example, this 6-day ski touring trip to Val Formazza in Piedmont and this 5-day ski adventure in the Alpe Devero.
