Towering dramatically above Howe Sound and the Pacific coastline, Sky Pilot Mountain is one of the most recognizable summits in the Sea to Sky corridor. Rising to 2,130 meters, this striking granite peak offers a true alpine experience close to Squamish, combining glacier travel, scrambling, and airy ridge terrain with exceptional views over coastal British Columbia.
On this 1-day guided Sky Pilot Ascent, you’ll maximize efficiency with the Sea to Sky Gondola approach, cutting out over 800 meters of elevation gain and allowing more time for the climb itself. Accompanied by a professionally certified ACMG guide from Mountain Skills Academy & Adventures, you’ll travel through alpine terrain to the Stadium Glacier before ascending via one of the mountain’s classic ridge routes, depending on conditions and group ability.
This is a demanding but rewarding objective for fit climbers with some prior mountaineering or outdoor rock climbing experience. Expect a full-value alpine day with technical movement, route-finding, and spectacular summit exposure.
For those seeking a more relaxed pace, a 2-day overnight version with a bivouac is also available on request.
If you're looking for a classic Squamish alpine objective with stunning scenery and real mountain character, send a request to book your Sky Pilot adventure.

Phil was an excellent climbing guide. He was safe, professional, and fun!

From start to finish of the climb Phil was super professional and friendly, made me feel really at ease despite my nerves on the day and explained every aspect of the climb in great detail. He assessed my capabilities and chose the route that was right for me and the most exciting, which was also very appreciated and took some great photos ;) I could not recommend spending a day with Phil more!

We got assigned Madison Bailey to be our guide up the multi pitch (star chek). Communication was easy and planning what to bring was simple. My girlfriend and came from Boston and flew into Vancouver, spent a few days in Squamish, and then spent a few more days in Vancouver city. We scheduled our multi pitch with Madison B on the first full day of our trip and it was great. He was on time and his personality was great. He did the lead climb first bringing up two ropes so he could belay my gf and I as we followed on lead after. We were able to climb at the same time (a few body lengths apart) and at no time did we feel unsafe. We were able to climb the multi pitch rather quickly without much fuss with rope management. What was even nicer was his recommendations for the rest of our time in Squamish. He was able to recommend good hikes and attractions for the other two days we spent in Squamish making our trip memorable and epic!
