Description

Mount Garibaldi, a dormant volcano from the Pleistocene age, dominates the horizon at 2,678 meters and is one of the South Coast Mountains most iconic peaks. Located roughly 20km north of Squamish and 80km north of Vancouver, Mount Garibaldi provides some of the best mountaineering opportunities in North America.

Uniquely, Mount Garibaldi formed itself upon a glacier and consequently The Garibaldi Nieve icefield occupies the northern and eastern slopes of the volcano. Fortunately for climbers, this provides excellent conditions and terrain for mountaineering.

I am providing this trip for between 1 and 3 people. With a small group, you can expect a very intimate experience. I always aim to create a fun and supportive atmosphere and I’ll be able to monitor your climbing closely in this group size.

This ancient glacial landscape is a truly stunning spectacle to behold and creates a climbing environment that is unforgettable. If you are excited to experience some of the best mountaineering around and enjoy views of epic proportions, then sign up now and I’ll be waiting!

I also offer  1+ days of rock climbing in The Bugaboos over in eastern BC for some exceptional granite climbing surfaces. Or perhaps  you’d like to ascend the highest peak in the Coast Mountains with this 1-week mountaineering trip to the summit of Mount Waddington.

Our guide was Tim Ross not Brian Jones. Day was great and Tim was very personal and taught us a lot about backcountry skiing. He tailored the day to our abilities and was very patient. Great experience.

We actually had a different guide (Les) but couldnt have been more impressed. He was super knowledgeable and helpful. Very patient and his timing for our day was excellent. Whistler is of course beautiful and it was a wonderful introduction to the back country.
