Join me on an unforgettable snowshoeing hike in the best corners of the Lyngen Alps and enjoy the best quality snow!
There is still a lot of snow in the Lyngen Alps and Kåfjord. This is possible due to it is always sunny and the snow remains light and fresh in June. Here we can enjoy a snowshoe hike all day under the “midnight sun”.
Along the seashore and the valleys that accompany the Lyngen Alps in Norway, nature wakes up every morning to give us the best landscapes. They provide us with ideal conditions to explore this wonderful region with snowshoes and climb some beautiful peaks.
Everything is perfect for you to come to the Lyngen Alps and enjoy this one week trip, which is also ideal for beginners! With a good physical condition will be more than enough. Only take into account that we will walk about 4 or 5 hours per day.
As for the climate at this time of year, temperatures are similar to those of the Swiss Alps in spring. A cold wind often blows on the high peaks and if it rains in the mountains, water quickly turns into snow. Luckily our accommodation is comfortable and warm!
So if you’re planning to come to Norway don’t miss this chance and visit the Lyngen Alps with me. Send your request and book the trip now!

Flight from Zurich to Tromso. With our rented car, we will go to Olderdalen and from there, to our chalet in the fjords. This accommodation is absolutely unique and comfortable. It has a kitchen, three bedrooms and two WC bathrooms with sauna.
The options in the Lyngen Alps, Kåfjord and in the islands near the coast are endless. Not only do we climb the summits, but we mainly take routes with beautiful views of the primitive Nordic landscape.
We will also walk through Nordmannvikdalen and we will be able to see one of the moose living there. We will take a high route over Rypbergan, in Lyngenfjord, with spectacular views. In the lonely Rotsunddalen we’ll rest in the Pilterigammen, a classic old hut repaired for the few tourists.
Then we can walk to Reisadalen with its amazing forests, where we will find a completely different world of birds along the fjords. Eagles are quite common here. Finally, do not miss the island of Arnøya, where the views of the Arctic Ocean will surprise you. Here the reindeer herds roam the hills and mountains.
We will drive to Tromso and return to Switzerland, with many plans for future tours in Norway.
I became a professional mountain guide after discovering that mountains and wild nature meant the life to me. In 1983 I completed my studies and started an amazing journey. I have been constantly on the road ever since, up in the Alps and on mountains and trekking areas on every continent.
Before I started taking guests on tours, my wife Ulrica was my climbing partner. Together, we spent many autumns in the Klausenpass climbing walls. After our daughter Heidi was born, she started coming along on our tours around the world. Later, our son Thomas and daughter Christina would join us. Even later, our granddaugther Jana came into our lives. All three of our children have become mountaineers as well. I am proud to say that world-strolling is in their blood too.
Having led groups in the Alps and other parts of the world for a long time, I witnessed how the alpine mountain landscape changed over the years. When I started off, we had to cook in the huts for ourselves. We now see suites, whirpools and saunas. Technical difficulties up in the mountain are mitigated with chains and wire ropes - a new way to live the mountain in a time-saving manner. Climbing routes that were inaccessible before have now been made open for the general public.
My heart lives for having more and more original natural experiences. This is the kind of experiences that have made us addicted to the mountain. I continue to strive for taking my guests off the beaten and better-known tracks. This is my commitment to you. I hope you can join me soon!
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
