On this exciting day trip, we would like to take you to the summit of the Toledo peak. And along the way, you will get to enjoy some wonderful views, especially from the mountain’s summit.
Since this climb takes place during the winter, you will have plenty of exposure to snow and ice. As a result, throughout the ascent of the Toledo peak, we will be guiding you through a snow mountaineering session. During this session, you will learn how to self-belay, how to self-arrest and how to use an ice axe. You will also learn how to climb in control in steep, firm snow.
We will make our way to the summit of the Toledo peak along the west ridge. And for the descent, we will make our way down the east bowl on foot, or on snowshoes or even skis, depending on your wishes and weather conditions.
The climb will involve a series of chimneys and pitches, most of which will consist of rock and snow and ice. Due to those conditions, we will be climbing with crampons. However, despite the intimidating nature of winter climbing, this peak is actually very accessible. Hence why climbers do not require any previous climbing experience. However, it is important that participants are in good physical condition.
Climbing the Toledo peak in the Wasatch mountains is a spectacular way to spend a day. So if you want to experience this thrilling ascent, just send us a request. We would be happy to guide you.
