Description

The challenging Tour du Mont Blanc (TMB) is one of the most amazing treks in the world. This 10-day itinerary takes you through three countries –FranceItaly and Switzerland – hiking along the most stunning scenery in the Alps.

We will start from Chamonix, in France, and for the next 10 days we will continue our trek clockwise around the Mont Blanc massif, discovering breathtaking views along the way, staying in mountain huts and Bed&Breakfast accommodation.

Please note this is a demanding trek, so you need previous trekking experience and a very good fitness level, being able to hike for at least 4 to 5 hours on mountain trails. You can check the day-by-day itinerary below, including altitude and kilometers for each day.

In Chamonix we will take the gondola to Planpraz, following a beautiful balcony path through La Flégère and Tête aux Vents to the Col des Montets. The views over the Mont Blanc are breathtaking! We will stay overnigth at the village of Le Tour.

On the second day, we will climb up l’Aguillette des Posettes and continue our walk, until we cross the border and enter Switzerland at the Pass Col de la Forlaz, where we will stay for the night.

On the upcoming days, we will hike through amazing landscapes, surrounded by unique natural beauty. We will stay at Champex Lac on the third day, and on the Italian town of Val Ferret the next day, enjoying  spectacular views over the Grandes Jorasses, Grand Combin and Matterhorn on our way!

You will discover the Italian side of Mont Blanc, staying at the Bertone Hut, and going down to Courmayeur on the sixth day. The views th Mont Blanc massif are stunning! We will then continue through the Col de la Seigne and enter the French side again, staying at Les Chapieux for the night.

Next day we will go down the Contamine Valley, hiking through the Col de la Croix du Bonhomme and Col Bonhomme, staying overnight at the Nant Borrant Hut. On the ninth day, a lot of interesting spots await us! We will spend the night at the Miage Hut.

Finally, on the last day, we climb up Col de Tricot Pass, hiking below the Binassey Glacier, catching the gondola at Bellvue to Les Houches, our final stop. This 10-day Tour du Mont Blanc trek is an experience not to be missed!

Our plan was for snowshoeing, but unusually warm weather meant snow cover was too light. Helena came up with a hiking route as an alternative, supplied all of the equipment and was the perfect guide. We were lucky to find such a well-suited guide as her, so thank you too, Explore-Share.

Had a great time hiking with Helena. She is always laughing and smiling. She has in-depth knowledge about the Tatras having grown up in the area. Can highly recommend her for guiding.

Really great experience doing a snowshoe hike in the Tatra mountains - I was fortunate enough to have sunny weather after a few days of light snow so conditions were amazing. I just did it on my own and Helena was super accommodating and made small changes to the route on the fly to make things more interesting. To be clear if you book this experience you are booking a professional mountain guide so the route they take you on can easily be adjusted to your group requirements and where to go for best conditions . Helena was extremely knowledgeable of the area - both in terms of her knowledge of the local trail networks and in chatting to me about the history, culture and geography of the Tatra mountains as we progressed along the hike. The route we went on was about 400m elevation (which I was comfortable doing) and the view from the summit was incredible. Would definitely recommend the experience if you want a great way to explore and view the Tatra mountains

Helena was a super personal guide for the tour. She aligned the trip to our wish (e.g. starting time, finishing nearby the thermal pool) and made a wonderful day for us. Guiding just the two of us made the whole trip very personal and flexilbe which we recommend for others as well. Thank you.

Helena was an awesome guide, making every effort to make sure it was a good experience! She rented all the equipment and even picked me up from my hostel! She has a lot of experience with mountain sports, as well as great knowledge of the area. While we were driving to the Tatras, she gave a short driving tour of Zakopane, explaining some of the architecture and history. We snowshoed for about 4 hours on a BEAUTIFUL day. She really enriched the experience with her knowledge of the ecology!

Helena was previously booked so I was guided by Beata. Beata was highly accommodating, passionate about her mountains, architecture and people, and went above and beyond what I had paid for! She was particularly careful to keep me safe at all times as the mountain top was icy and slippery - but there was no problem. Beata was so kind in showing me around Zakopane as well and introducing me to friends and family - even asked me join her friends on a day trip out of Zakopane to see some other beautiful areas around the area. Beata was at all times curious as to what it was I loved to do and see. Truly an amazing and unforgettable experience! Beata was wonderful! Thank you for the experience, challenges and memories.
