Description

During this full day trip, you will get to explore the beautiful Garliste Gorges.

Located near Timisoara (Banat), in the Carpathian Mountains of Romania, the Garliste Gorges, near the village bearing the same name, are absolutely stunning. Over the course of the trip, you will see the ruins of 14 water mills. You will also get to see a number of wondrous caves as well. The beginning section of the path we will be taking will follow a carriage road until narrowing. Afterwards, we will reach the Gherii cliff and Moghila cliff.

Another great part of this trip is a wonderfully scenic train ride on the Oraita-Anina railway. It was inaugurated in 1863, and is 33 kilometers long, at an altitude of 339 meters and features 14 tunnels and 9 viaducts.

This trip is very family friendly. Children as young as 6 years old can enjoy it. As a result of the openness to families, no prior experience is required, as there are no technical aspects. Instead, this trip is all about a relaxing experience that will allow you to soak in some beautiful scenery.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice.
