Description

Famous for climbing and climbers, AUSTRIA is full of fantastic cliffs and ridges you can scale.

On this full day rock climbing adventure, I would like to guide you to some great spots near Traunstein. And because the climbing area I will take you is very close to the Austrian border, there is also the option to climb in Gmunden as well. Along with your desires and climbing level, I will also factor in weather conditions before deciding on the best option for you.

One thing you can be certain of, no matter where we decide to climb, is you will get to enjoy some fantastic views of the vast, Bavarian landscape. Also, like any good rock climbing trip, you will get to enjoy the thrill of scaling large rock formations, while getting a great work out.

As a result of the plentiful variety of spots, this trip is open to people of all rock climbing levels. But regardless of climbing level, participants on this trip should be in good physical condition.

Another great aspect of this trip is the location. Not only is the town of Traunstein lovely to visit and spend time in, but there are several great places to visit throughout Bavaria. Moreover, the historical Austrian city of Saltzburg is also very close, as well as the incredible Alps. Thus making this rock climbing day trip a possible addition to a much larger, grander vacation.

If you want to enjoy some great rock climbing in Bavaria, Germany, just send me a request. I have no doubt we will find the perfect climbing spot for you near Traunstein.

Mountain Guide

My passion for the mountains starts early in my life. At age 10 I summited Dachstein, the highest mountain in northern Austria the first time. But it took 6 more years to get me into climbing at age 16. Since then I haven't stopped climbing.

Since 2012 I have been self-employed as a climbing Guide. I became a fully-certified mountain guide in 2016.

I love how my guiding work has taken me to special places like Patagonia, Lyngen and Lofoten but also very much enjoy working in the Alps and climbing well-known peaks such as Dachstein, Großglockner, and Mount Blanc.

I will be happy to guide you on your next mountain holiday. I'll try to make it a satisfying and safe journey to the summit and back to the valley!

I very much enjoyed the trip. I had wished to do this trip for more than 20 years. Unfortunately I cought a virus a couple of days before we headed for the peak. To this very day I still dont feel ship shape, but still though, much better. Stefan is a fantastuc guide, and I felt safe all the way up and down. The weather forcast was bad for the 24 th of july in the afternoon, but became shitty 2-3 hours before forecasted with thunder and lightening in one go several times. We agreed to leave the peak after an approximately 10 minutes rest in order to reduce the impact of the increasingly bad weather. The decision was right, no discussion what so ever between the two of us. Stefan is utter professional. In stead we had a good rest at Herzug Johann hutte. We luckily made it safely all the way down, even though the via ferrata part to and fro the Herzug Johann hut was tiny bit slippery on the way down due to rain. I will most definitely recommend Stefan to other trekkers, and would be delighted to do another trip with him next year. Sincerely regards Rolf Norman Windheim Sørensen

Very nice trip to the summit. Great guide with a lot of knowledge, and fast to adjust since we had a bit of a misunderstanding. Fast and good response every day of the week. I would highly recommend going with Stefan.
