Description
Join me as I take you on a full day of adventure in the beautiful town of Sutatausa in Colombia. Located 60 km from the capital city of Bogotá, Sutatausa is a little town which has a magical rocky cliff that serves an ideal spot for rock climbing and trekking.
We’ll spend the day doing a mix of activities including rock climbing, trekking, and bouldering. You will triumph some technical steeps over irregular rocks, alongside witnessing spectacular views from the top of the cliff. The gorgeous landscape of forest and rocks makes it an ideal place for a fun nature day.
The routes here are many and varied, so, whether you are a seasoned climber or are just starting off with your climbing journey, you won’t be disappointed. Keep in mind that it is necessary to have some previous climbing experience on technical trails to go on this trip. Rest be assured as I will be there to guide you at every step.
The trip begins in the city of Sutatausa. We will meet in the morning and drive to the starting point of the trek. A walk of about 2 KM on a rugged terrain through a lush forest takes us to our climbing routes.
From here, we’ll hike for another kilometer to reach the top of the cliff. You’ll have an amazing time traversing the scenic mountainous landscape. Next, we’ll head towards the boulder area which lies on a pasture at the end of the trekking trail.
And you are set to mount! It will be a thrilling climb to the top, from where you’ll gorge on stunning views. After relishing our time here, we’ll head back, taking with us a bag full of unforgettable memories.

Itinerary
Day 1: Hiking & Rock Climbing
We’ll meet in the morning at 9.30 AM and I will brief you about the activities and the climbing techniques. Then, will set on our hike to the rock-climbing site. We’ll spend the day rock-climbing and trekking. We’ll enjoy box lunch at the site return back by 5 PM.

Rock Climbing Instructor
Hi, my name is Luis. I am an engineer who has made the mountains my way of life. I live in Machetá, a small village 80 km north of Bogotá, where is one of the best climbing spots in the country. I have been a travel guide throughout Colombia since 2007 and in 2013 I was certified by the Association of Mountain Guides and Climbers in Colombia (ACGME) as a Rock Climbing Instructor.
I can take you to the some of the many climbing sites in the country, mainly in Suesca, Machetá and Sutatausa, very close to Bogotá. Also, we can go on trekkings and outings and enjoy walks through Colombia’s stunning nature.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland.
