Enjoy the beautiful Italian Val Varaita on this 5-day ice climbing adventure with Marco, an IFMGA/UIAGM-certified mountain guide!

5 Days

Jan, Feb, Dec

Are you ready for this 5-day ice climbing adventure in Val Varaita? My invitation is for you to join me on this 5-day frozen adventure in the beautiful valley of Varaita in the Italian province of Cuneo.

It was in 1977, in Val Varaita, that Italian ice climbing was born and in this same valley the first international ice climbing meeting took place. Participants will be able to climb in this historic place, located in front of the majestic Mount Monviso (3841 meters).

Known for its great ice conditions, climbers will be introduced to ice climbing techniques as well as the use of climbing tools. And after a challenging day of ice climbing on the Valeria or the Limo Nero frozen waterfalls, participants will enjoy the amazing Italian hospitality.

Suitable for beginners as well intermediate skiers, if you are ready for this adventure in Val Varaita request to book this trip!

Mountain Guide

I live in Cuneo , a little town in South Alps region 100 km from Turin.

We have a lot of wild and beautiful mountains around the town, usually a lot of snow for winter, so as a guide I use to stay around my area during winter and spring time for ski touring and ice climbing.

During the summer as a guide it's better to drive to Chamonix, Cervinia, etc, for climbing the most famous mountains of the Alps.

I born in 30 .07.1969

I love mountains in general, ice climbing, ski touring, climbing or just walking in wild walley.

I speak English and French good level, and I m studying Deutch.

I was looking for a local guide for a hike I was planning and came across Explore-Share. They seemed to have good reviews and so decided to give them a try. The experience was very positive and completely happy with their service. I will be using them again for next trip.

Easy to set up and find the perfect trip. Informative site that is easy to use. Guides are all great to work with and communicate all arrangements needed. As simple as can be!

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
