We meet at 8:15 a.m. at the valley station of the Allmenalp cable car, where parking is available. The meeting point can also be reached on foot from Kandersteg train station in about 15 minutes. After gearing up with the necessary via ferrata equipment, we hike together for around 30 minutes to reach the start of the route.

From there, the vertical adventure begins. The route starts with an impressive rock wall and continues alongside the four waterfalls of the Allmibach. Along the way, we cross exposed Nepal bridges, climb secured rock sections, and enjoy the highlight of the route: the Tyrolienne, where you glide above the water in a truly memorable alpine setting.

The via ferrata leads us up to Allmenalp, high above Kandersteg, where we take time to enjoy the outstanding panorama of the surrounding Bernese Alps, including views of the Fründenhorn and Blüemlisalp. After the climb, we return comfortably to the valley by cable car.

Mountain Guide

As a child, I spent my summer in the Alps and that is where my passion for the mountains was born. I became a certified mountain guide in the year 2000. I specialize in rock climbing, skiing and snowboarding. For me, it is a great pleasure to share my knowledge of the mountains with my clients and to help them improve. During my free time, I like to go hiking and snowboarding with my wife and my 3 children.

What people are saying about this trip

Lynn

Samuel guided me and my friend on the Kandersteg Via Ferrata. Although I don’t have any VF or climbing experience, Samuel was a very good teacher with his patience, education, kindness and leadership. He gave us the confidence we needed to succeed in our endeavor and would hire him again.
