Best time to visit

Valais is at its sunny best in high summer, although you should visit in September-October if you want to a avoid the busy season, and when the weather is not too hot or cold

Valais has an overall very nice weather, with some of the driest and sunniest places in the country. Summers can be fairly hot around the Rhone valley, where temperatures can reach up to 35ºC. Temperatures are relatively mild in autumn

Getting there

If you are heading to the west part of Valais (French) you can fly into Geneve International Airport. Zürich Airport brings passengers closer to the east side (German). Then you have to connect by rail tunnel or drive over one of the passes. (2-3 hours). You can also reach Valais by train or vehicle from many cities
