Heliskiing day in the Aosta Valley (2 Flights, 2 Runs)
While it was not a great snow year, the helicopter experience and our guide Paolo in particular were phenomenal. Would recommend Paolo to absolutely anyone.

Great place to start off-pist without anybody. Elis Martis was super patient. Thank you.
Heliskiing is forbidden on the French side of the border but possible from Courmayeur. You’ll enjoy outstanding views of the south face of Mont Blanc on the way up and then ski down to Chamonix, in France.

Heliski season usually goes from December to April or May
What’s the weather like?
Expect chilly weather with frequent snowfall. For more stable weather, consider visiting during March or April (avalanche risk is also lower during these months)
How to get here?
The most convenient airport is Turin’s followed by Geneva. You can then drive to Courmayeur in 1 hour and 40 minutes from Turin and 1.5 hours from Geneva (crossing the Mont Blanc tunnel)
Located at the foot of Mont Blanc (a.k.a Monte Bianco), the charming resort town of Courmayeur is one of the Alps’ main winter sports centers. Although ski conditions may not always be as good as Chamonix (located just 22 km away on the French side of Mont Blanc), Courmayeur receives a lot more sunshine and is famous for it fun apres-ski scene and lively nightlife. The ski area is not as large as others in Europe (41 square-kilometers) but Courmayeur compensates with great off-piste skiing terrain. The Skyway Monte Bianco, a 3-stage cable car, will get you to Punta Helbronner, the closest you can get to the Mont Blanc summit in public transport. From here, you can access Chamonix Vallee Blanche
