At only a few kilometers from **Santiago**, the Chilean natural monument of **El Morado** is a great opportunity for nature lovers. Join this private guided trek to explore the wilderness of this spot in **Cajón del Maipo, in the Central Andes!**

**El** **Morado Natural Monument** is a glacial cirque and a protected area, dominated by Cerro El Morado (5,060 m).

We’ll start this 1-day trek in Santiago and head to the mountain town of **Baños Morales**. From there, we’ll begin our hike. One of the highlights will be admiring a wonderful view of **San Francisco glacier.**

The best time to join this trip is from April to June, and from October to December. The trek is open for everyone as there are no difficulties on this route. Groups may be formed of up to 4 people.

This **1-day hike to El Morado hanging glacier** is your best chance to admire the greatness of an Andean glacier close to **Santiago de Chile**.

**El Morado** is a Natural Monument set in **Cajón del Maipo**, very close to Chile's capital city. The landscape is dominated by the beautiful **Cerro El Morado** and it has a glacier that is part of the **El Volcán river** basin.

This program will take us through an easy, but long, path to **El Morado Lagoon**, from where we'll have a privileged view of the amazing hanging glacier (Glaciar Colgante). Also during the hike we'll be surrounded by the breathtaking  landscape of the central **Cordillera de los Andes**.

The whole walk will last around 6 hours to hike up and down. There will be spare time to take pictures and have lunch in the lagoon.

This **1-day Rubillas Lagoon hike** is an incredible chance to enjoy some of the most beautiful sceneries of the **Cordillera de los Andes** very close to **Santiago de Chile**.

The **Rubillas Lagoon** is located in a gorge with the same name, in the area of **Cajón del Maipo**, an hour away from **Santiago**.

This small lagoon with crystal clear water is a hidden jewel of this area. It's usually out of the tourist main routes, so the landscape beauty is magnified by its solitude.

This hike lasts around 6 or 7 hours. In the way up we'll stop in  different viewpoints where you'll be able to enjoy amazing views of the **San José Volcano** and the **Retumbadero and Morado mountains**.

Then we'll hike down to the lagoon. In the way down we'll face a big rock wall full of encrusted fossils, which is a paradise for archaeologists and geologists.
