#### **Why don’t you join me in this 7-day trekking adventure through the High Tatras? It is an amazing mountain range lying just on the border between Slovakia and Poland.**

During this week **I will guide you among the most outstanding spots of The Tatra National Park**. This national park protects the areas of the Western and Eastern High Tatras. In addition to that, it has 600 km of hiking trails, of which 16 are perfectly marked. The highest peak in Slovakia is **the Gerlachovský štít** (2,655 m) and it is right inside this park.

In our way through the **High Tatras**, you will be able to know the interesting flora and fauna of the region, including many endemic species. During the night, we will have dinner and sleep in **comfortable mountain lodges**. That way we can rest, recover energies and get ready for each new day.

**I can take with me a minimum of 4 people and a maximum of 10**. Thus I can guarantee a enjoyable trip for all of us. You should know that **we’ll walk around 5-8 hours per day**. Therefore, I recommend this trip to those with a good fitness level.

Arrival in Poland (in Katowice or Kraków airport) From the airport, a transfer will take you to Zakopane. Free time in the city. Accommodation and dinner in a hotel.

Meeting Point

After breakfast we will be transferred to Kuźnice, where we take a cableway to **Kasprowy Wierch**. We’ll pass through the main ridge of Tatra in direction to Świnica, on the Polish- Slovakian border. Then, we’ll return to the Świnicka Pass and descend to the Dolina Stawów Gąsienicowych, in the Gąsienicowa Valley. We’ll finally get to the mountain hostel of Hala Gąsienicowa, where we’ll dinner and spend the night. The total walking time of the day will be around 5 hours with an altitude change of 500m.

Early breakfast and then a new hike through The High Tatras. We’ll walk to the Czarny Staw Gąsienicowy, one of the most beautiful mountain lakes. After that, we will walk in direction to the Zawrat Pass with some parts of easy via ferrata itineraries. Then we’ll go down to the valley of Dolina Pięciu Stawów Polskich. Accommodation and dinner in the mountain lodge. Today we’ll walk between 6 and 7 hours with an elevation gain of 900m.

Czarny Staw Gąsienicowy

Breakfast and hike to the Szpiglasowa Pass (2110m). Some parts of the trail have easy via ferrata itineraries. Then, we’ll descend to **Morskie Oko Lake** (the biggest and well-known Tatra’s lake). Here we’ll find our accommodation for the night, in the Morskie Oko Mountain Hostel. Walking time of the day: 5 hours. Altitude change: 500m.

After breakfast we’ll walk towards the Rysy (the highest Polish peak at 2499 meters of altitude). On the way we will pass by the **lake of Czarny Staw pod Rysami**. Then, we’ll go to the Morskie Oko Mountain Hostel again, where we’ll dinner and spend the night. The total walking time for the day is 8 hours and the altitude change is 1250m.

The Rysy

Today we’ll say googbye to the Tatra Mountains. A transfer will take us to **Kraków** where you can do a city tour and dinner on your own. Overnight stay in a hotel of Krakow.

Return to Kraków

Last day. Breakfast and transfer to the airport, where this program ends.

High Tatras one week guided hiking tour

#### **It’s my pleasure to invite you to a big hiking adventure in the** Western Tatras**. A unique week across the best spots of this incredible mountain range.**

The **Western Tatras** form an important mountain range located on the border between Poland and Slovakia. In fact, it is the second highest mountain range in both countries. The Western Tratas include not only the **Tatra Mountains** but the **Carpathian Mountains** as well. All those peaks give us a really stunning scenery with **the Bystrá (2,248 m)** as its highest point.

During this trek I am proposing today, we’ll discover **the most outstanding places of the Western Tatras** as well as its interesting native flora and fauna. Besides that, we’ll spend the night in **comfortable mountain lodges** where we can recover energies and get ready for each new adventure day. Our meeting point will be in **Zakopane**, an amazing old city at the foot of the Tatra Mountains.

Regarding the physical condition required for this trip, participants have to know that the **average walking time will be between 5 and 8 hours per day**. Therefore, I recommend **a good fitness level** if you want to enjoy this hiking week to the fullest. The group size ideally cannot exceed 10 people. That way I can promise you a pleasant and safe adventure. 

Finally, let me share with you **a sample day-by-day program at the end of this description**. I can adjust the itinerary to you wishes, time and expectations. **We can discuss it and any other item once you get in touch with me**. Arrival in Poland, in Katowice or Kraków airport. Then, a transfer will take you to **Zakopane** where you’ll have some free time in the city. Accommodation and dinner in a hotel.

After having breakfast in the hotel, we’ll do a tour around the town of Zakopane which includes shops, galleries, pubs and an old cemetery. Then, we’ll have lunch in a regional restaurant and move to Siwa Polana by bus. Here the hike starts. We will walk to our mountain hostel, the Polana Chochołowska, through a very easy trail. We’ll dinner and spend the night there. The total walking time for the day will be around 2:30 hours with an altitude change of 250 m.

Early breakfast. Then, a long but moderate walk to Tatry Zachodnie. We’ll pass by the Grześ and the Wołowiec peaks. We continue the hike through the main ridge of the Wast Tatra in direction to the Jarząbczy Wierch, the Kończysty Wierch and the Trzydniowiański Wierch. This amazing trail goes along the Polish-Slovak border. Finally, we will descend to the Chochołowska Polana hostel, where we will dinner and spend the night. Total walking time of the day: 8-9 hours. Altitude change 1450 m.

Chochołowska Mountain Hostel

After breakfast we’ll head to the **trail of Tatry Zachodnie**, first in direction to the Starorobociańska Valley and then to the Błyszcz peak and the Bystra (in Slovakia). We’ll descend to the Ornak peak in order to reach the **Mała Polana Ornaczańska mountain lodge**, just in the Kościeliska Valley. We will dinner and sleep here. The total walking time for the day will be between 7 and 8 hours and the elevation gain, 1400 m.

Tatry Zachodnie Trail

We set off the hostel after breakfast towards the Czerwone Wierchy peak. We’ll walk along its ridge in direction to the Kondracka Pass. We then descend to the Dolina Kondratowa Valley and after that to Kuźnice, where there is a local bus stop that will take us back to town. The hiking time for today will be around 7–8 hours with an altitude change of 1350m. The trail is very long and moderate. Once we arrive in the city of Zakopane we will dinner and rest in a nearby hotel.

After breakfast we will move to Kraków, where we can visit the Old Town, its Royal Castell, its main markets and churches. Last night in a hotel of the city.

Breakfast and transfer to the airport. Ending of the program.
