All of us have heard about **North Patagonia** in the Andes Range, at least once. Well, it’s time to discover the amazing mountain secrets this area have.

During this 12-day trekking expedition we’ll reach high altitudes and visit the best huts, lakes and glaciers of the region.

#### DAY 1: FREY HUT

Our starting point will be Bariloche. Early in the morning we’ll move to our trail-head in Cerro Catedral. We’ll hike above the Gutierrez Lake until we are in the Van Titter Stream, where we’ll lunch and rest for a while.

By the afternoon we’ll be at the **Frey Hut at 1.650 meter**s. A fondue of cheese will be our dinner before a nice sleeping time.

#### DAY 2: SAN MARTIN HUT

We leave Frey Hut in direction to the Rucaco Pass at 2.050 meters of height. On the way, we’ll probably find some snow. We have lunch in the middle of the forest and then we continue hiking until we’re in the Brecha Negra. It’s a mountain pass that will lead us to **San Martin Mountain Hut**, our home of today.

#### DAY 3: laguna negra hut

This day is the hardest one. We start the ascent to Refugie Peak. You have to know it is a rock climbing section of grade III and it includes some scrambling with the hands and the feet.

When we gain a 1.900-meter altitude we keep hiking across a ridge called “Inocentes”. It is the way to **Mount Navidad summit**. Then, we’ll take a ravine in direction to Italia Hut passing along the Black Lagoon where our accommodation awaits.

#### DAY 4: lopez hut and colonia suiza

Today we will walk around the Black Lagoons and then, ascend to the ridge of Bailey Willis from where we can admire an amazing viewpoint of **Nahuel Huapi Lake**.

Once we cross the Goye Valley we’ll reach to **Cerro Lopez summit** at 2.000 meters. Time to descend to our last mountain hut: Lopez Hut. There, a transfer will take us to Colonia Suiza, a nice town of Bariloche.

#### DAY 5: REST IN COLONIA SUIZA

#### DAY 6: BLACK LAGOON HUT VIA NORMAL ROUTE

We start walking among the Colonia Suiza Valley until we are at Black Lagoon hut. We’ll set up our camp there and sleep in tents.

#### DAY 7: CAB LAGOON CAMP

We’ll hike down into La Chata Valley. Then, we climb to the CAB Lagoon across an outback route. And there we establish our new campsite.

*   **Altitude gained: 1000 meters**

#### DAY 8: CAMP AT CRETON LAGOON

It is the day of climbing to the top of Cerro CAB along a stone and rocky edge. When we cross to the other side of the summit, we will be at the high Mate Dulce Valley.

We have lunch and keep climbing to Cerro Cristal. Then, we’ll be finally in our base camp at The Creton Lagoon.

#### DAY 9: ILON LAGOON

We will enjoy one of the best viewpoint of all the expedition during this day. Amazing lakes and Chilean summit such us Mount Tronador. After 8 walking hours we’ll be at Ilon Lagoon camp, where we’ll spend the night.

#### DAY 10: PAMPA LINDA INN

Today we’ll move to Mirada del Doctor. Then, we return to the camp to pack our gear and start to descend to Pampa Linda. Once in there, we will enjoy a deserved bath and a delicious meal.

#### DAY 11: Meiling hut

We are hiking in direction to the Meiling Hut at 2.000 meters among the Castaño Overo Valley. After a picnic lunch we continue the trek to the refuge, where we’ll reach by the afternoon. At night, we’ll have a nice candle lights dinner.

#### DAY 12: BARILOCHE

Once we breakfast we’ll move towards a glacier that is 200 meters from the hut and enjoy a great Andean view. Then, we’ll return to the hut, have lunch and start the last trip to Bariloche, where the program ends.

This is a classic mountain hike in **North Patagonia**. During four days, I will be your guide through some of the most beautiful mountain trails near the city of **Bariloche**.

It is an intense and technical hike that demands a considerable physical effort. But there is a reward: the opportunity of spending time in four different mountain huts with outstanding natural views.

#### North Patagonia Hike itinerary

**Day 1: Hike to Frey Hut**

The itinerary begins at Cerro Catedral, one of the most traditional spots in North Patagonia. We depart from Frey Hut trail-head and traverse the south part of the mountain. After watching Lake Gutierrez from high above, we have a picnic lunch at Van Titter Stream valley. Finally, we spend the night at **Frey Mountain Hut** (1650 meters), where we get an impressive view of the glacier and its granite spires.

**Day 2: On Cerro Catedral’s ridge**

After breakfast, we hike to the Rucaco pass on the Cerro Catedral ridge (2050 meters). We might find some snow on the way and enjoy a unique view of the Andes, as well as the Chilean volcanoes on the west side. After a long day of eight hours of trekking, we arrive to San Martin Mountain Hut (1650 meters), next to Lake Jacob. That is our destination for the night.

**Day 3. Rock climbing to Mount Navidad**

We begin the ascent to Peak Hut, one of the most technical parts of the trip, which has a grade III in rock climbing. At 1900 meters, we traverse on top of the Inocents Ridge, that lead us to the summit of Mount Navidad, a place with an incredible view. Then we take a ravine, cross the Black Lagoon and finally climb towards our mountain hut. Good weather is really important in order to complete this part of the trek.

**Day 4. Lopez Hut, the last destination**

To complete this challenge we hike around the lagoon and climb towards the Bailey Willis ridge. Then, we descent to the last hut of our trip: Lopez Hut, which offers a stunning view over **Nahuel Huapi Lake**. Finally, we walk to the base of the mountain and transfer back to Bariloche’s city.

##### Paso Vuriloche is the gateway to the heart of the Andes Mountain Range.

This time, I want to invite you to a trekking expedition across **Paso Vuriloche**, the Andean forest and of course, the best glaciers of the region.

They will be 8 amazing days of hike that starts in **Pampa Linda**, Argentina. During the trip, we will walk among the Valdivian forest, lakes and waterfalls. Our ending point will be in the Chilean lake of **Todos los Santos**.

#### DAY 1

Our trail-head will be **Pampa Linda**, near the border between Argentina and Chile. Once we are in a waterfall called **Saltillo de las Nalcas**, we’ll hike towards the **Manso Glacier**. We’ll cross to the Chilean side across the **Paso Vuriloche**. Our first camp will be set up at Mallin Chileno (1.300 meters high).

**Trekking Time: 5 hours**

**Distance: 15 Km**

**Altitude gain: 600 m**

#### DAY 2

Today we’ll climb to **Mount Tronador hut** at 2.200 meters above sea level. We’ll return to Mallin Chileno cabins.

**Trekking time: 5 hours**

**Distance: 10 km**

**Altitude gain: 900 m**

#### DAY 3

We leave the camp behind in direction to the west. We must hike down across a burned forest that will lead us to the Valdivian one.

After some serious trekking hours we’ll be finally at our camp. We’ll spend the night in a comfortable house of the family Oyarzo. From there, we will enjoy the best views of the Patagonia.

**Trekking time: 6 hours**

**Distance: 10 km**

**Altitude gain: – 700 m (strong descent)**

#### DAY 4

Across an easy climb we’ll be at **La Piedra del Buitre Pass**. After that rocky path we continue on a wider road until we arrive to **Leti Hot Springs**. It’s time for a rest but we must be careful because the hot waters can reach 75 °C! We can also swim in a cold stream or mix both waters in order to obtain the perfect temperature.

**Trekking time: 4 hours**

**Distance: 8 km**

**Altitude gain: – 250 m**

#### DAY 5

Today we will rest in Termas de Leti.

#### DAY 6

We’ll start the classic Chilean “horse trail”. It is a valley with muddy paths (specially in rainy days) and lower temperatures.

**Trekking time: 7 hours**

**Distance: 16 km**

#### DAY 7

A similar terrain than the day before with the plus of wading 3 rivers. Four hours later, we will be finally in the **Cayutue Lake**. We continue walking along the lake until we are in one of its bay, where we’ll rest.

**Trekking time: 6 hours**

**Distance: 15 km**

#### DAY 8

During the last day we will cross the Cayutue River by boat and then, continue hiking up to the final point, the Cayutue Landing on Todos los Santos  Lake.

A last sailing in direction to **Petrohue Port** to celebrate the end of such an amazing trekking program.

**Trekking time: 3 hours**

**Distance: 8 Km**

###### Do you want to live an unforgettable trekking expedition? Discover the Patagonia Glaciers in six days!

The **Patagonia region is of the most visited area in Argentina** because its incredible landscapes and many towns located at the foot of the Andes range.

I propose a **beautiful trekking through the northern of Patagonia** during while, we’ll appreciate the **beauties that nature offers** such as the local flora and fauna, lakes and glaciers.

##### For more information, please find below a description about the 6-day program:

**DAY 1:** First of all, we start out trekking expedition from the base of the ski resort. By the way to Piedritas refuge we’ll admire the **tree clad valley of Patagonia**. We’ll have a snack break to continue to Frey refuge. One we arrive, we’ll have lunch on the **shores of Tonchek lagoon**. You have an optional trek to Bara Peak. The altitude gain during the first day ascent goes around 600 meters.

**DAY 2:** We’ll t**rek to Lake Gutierrez** by a undulating trail. We’ll spend the night in a refuge in the camp where we’ll also have dinner. Day enjoying the incredible views of Gutierrez Lake.

**DAY 3 – 4:** These will be great trekking days! We’ll traverse over a pass at 1000 meters high, where we enjoy **beautiful views of Mascardi Lake and Mt Tronador**. We’ll lunch in Llum lagoon. Lastly, we descend towards Mascardi Lake. **Transfer to Pampa Linda** where we spend the night in Pampa Linda Mountain Inn.

**DAY 5:** Trekking day to Meiling refuge in Tronador mountain. This point gives us **stunning views of the beautiful Andes range**. Later, in the afternoon we’ll rest and enjoying the surroundings at the refuge.

**DAY 6:** After having breakfast, we’ll **trek on the mountain glaciers towards La Motte Ridge** in the border with Chile. Lunch at the refuge and descend to Pampa Linda. Finally, we’ll take a transfer to Bariloche.

As a final point, it’s important to considerate that this trek has a moderate difficulty. So, participants should have a good physical condition and prior trekking experience.

##### The Patagonian high route is located in the middle between Argentina and Chile.

With its starting point in Bariloche, the **Patagonian high route** is a classical trekking trail combined with some technical climbs.

That’s why a hard training is mandatory. You also have to be prepared to do a lot of hiking and mountaineering. We will leave Colonia Suiza in **Bariloche** hiking along amazing lagoons and landscapes.

Our next point will be at **Pampa Linda** where we’ll rest before the biggest challenge of the trip: reaching up to the summit of **Mount Tronador**. Once in there, we’ll descend to Paso de Las Nubes so that we can cross to the Chilean side via Puerto Frias.

When we are in Chile the second stage of the trip begins. A ferry will take us to **Puerto Varas** passing along Todos Los Santos Lake. And here starts our last huge objective: getting to **Osorno Volcano** summit!

###### DAY 1

First at all, we cross the Manso River at the end of **Lake Mascardi**. Then, we walk along the **Laguna Azul** up to the valley.

After lunch, we climb the ridge to the **Ilon Lagoon.** Then, we trek along the **Jujuy Lagoon** and reach a stunning viewpoint of **Mount Tronador.** 

Finally, we follow the Ilon Lagoon downhill to our campsite and have dinner watching the stars.

###### DAY 2

First in the morning, we visit the Mirada del Doctor viewpoint towards Lake Frey and Lake Nahuel Huapi. After lunch, we trek towards the Meiling Refuge and follow up the valley with an amazing view to the **Castaño Overo Glacier.**

In the evening, we arrive to the hut and enjoy the view of the **Andes** and the flight of the **Andean Condor**. Also, we have candle light dinner.

Optional: 3km horse ride.

###### DAY 3

After breakfast, we explore the glacier just 200 meters from the refuge with all the necessary equipment. We trek along crevasses up to 40 meters deep and try a bit of ice. Finally, we have lunch at the refuge and go back to Bariloche.

The tour in the glacier is 100% safe with the complete equipment.
