**Adamello is a mountain range in the Italian Alps**, located in the provinces of Trento and Brescia. The highest peaks in the range are Adamello (3554m) and Presanella (3558m).

The Passo de Tonale, which is in fact our starting point, separates this range from the Ortler Alps to the north.

Spring is the ideal time of the year to explore the Adamello glacier ski touring. And ski touring will allow us to discover this vast area in the best way! We will traverse it ascending and descending, immersed in a wonderful setting. Besides, the speed that skis provide makes it possible to travel easier than on foot.

The itineraries that we can follow are endless. The mountains are covered in snow providing quite different routes. Besides, the Pian di Neve (meaning snow plain) is spectacular.

This is the largest glacier in Italy, and it’s your chance to explore it with your skis on! It is 13 square km large, so you can be sure that there are plenty of options.

As I mentioned before, we will begin the tour at Passo de Tonale. For more information about the possible program, have a look at the detailed itinerary below. But bear in mind that it is only an example, that I can modify to suit your wishes. In addition, I can adjust the program if you don’t have enough days, or if you want to go for longer than 4 days.

We will get to know each other and check the equipment. I think it’s important to see your level before starting out for the mountains, so we will do some off-piste itineraries in Passo Tonale.

From Passo de Tonale we reach the Presena glacier using the lifts. After getting to Passo Presena (2950m), we descend to Rifugio Mandrone (2500m). We rest and have a snack, then descend to Rifugio Caduti dell’Adamello (3040m).

We ascend to Cresta Croce and the nearby WWI Cannon (“the hippopotamus”). There’s an exceptional panorama of the Adamello glacier. Then we return to Rifugio Caduti dell’Adamello.

We traverse the glacier to reach Passo Venezia. From there an amazing descent onto the Pisgana glacier follows. It’s more than 2000m of vertical drop.

**I invite you to this 2-day summer mountaineering trip in the Adamello range. Our starting point will be Ponte di Legno.** 

The Adamello mountain range is located in the Italian Alps, in the north of the country. Its beauty and different routes make it perfect for a mountaineering adventure. You have to go there to enjoy the breathtaking views!

I like to guide my clients on several different itineraries in the area. Here are my two favourite options:  
–  Val Miller (sleeping at the Gnutti hut) – Monte Adamello – Val Miller (difficulty PD)  
– Tonale pass – Ghiacciaio Presena – Overnight at Lobbia hut – Monte Adamello – Val Miller (difficulty PD)

For this program, you need to have some mountaineering and climbing experience. Besides, of course you need to be in good physical shape. As a reference, you should be able to progress with altitude differences of 1500m, during 8-10 hours a day. If you have any doubts about your level, or if you already know that you need some modifications, let me know!

**Summer in Italy means mountaineering for true adventurers! Join me for this 5-day advanced mountaineering course, based at Ponte di Legno.**

Ponte di Legno is a charming town in the Italian Alps. It is the perfect starting point for an expedition in the Brenta Dolomites and the Adamello mountain range. Depending on the exact program we define, we can stay in town every night, or we can sleep in huts in the mountain.

This mountaineering course is meant to learn advanced techniques. I can take up to 2 people with me. On the first day, we will start with some exercises to evaluate your level and make sure you know all the necessary techniques. We will practice as long as necessary for you to master the techniques, thus making sure you will be safe in the mountains. It can take only a couple of hours, or more than a day.

Some of the topics are:  
– basic climbing technique  
– rope work, knots  
– rock climbing technique and equipment  
– abseiling and belaying  
– placement and removal of nuts/wires and friends  
– ice axe arrest  
– crampon technique  
– crevasse rescue

Then, as I mentioned earlier, we will start the adventure on site, either returning to Ponte di Legno each evening or progressing from hut to hut. This will depend on your wishes and your level. The areas can include: Presanella glacier, Adamello glacier, Ortles/Cevedale range and Brenta Dolomites range.

The options in these mountains are endless! There are via ferratas, glaciers, crevasses, rocky/snowy ridges… Each day we will decide the exact itinerary together. It will be a full immersion course!

##### Another of the many fantastic climbs in the Dolomites of Italy, the Campanile di Val Montanaia is a great adventure.

The **Campanile di Val Montanaia** is an intimidating **300 meter stone spire**. And scaling it to the top is an achievement you will not soon forget.

In order to reach this great tower, you must drive for **just under two hours from Cortina to the Cimoliana valley**. At that point you can reach the trail head from the **Rifugio Pordenone**. And finally, you will have to **hike for approximately 1.5 hours** to the base of the tower. But once you get there, the sight of the **Campanile di Val Montanaia** will be well worth it.

We will scale this impressive spire by way of the normal route. There are several difficult spots you will have to maneuver around to the reach the top. Those spots include a 5 meters, V/5.6 graded  _Cozzi Crack_ and the 5-6 meters, IV/5.5 graded _Von Glanvell Chimney_. Both of these spots require strength and technique. However, we will make sure you are safely guided throughout the fairly rapid, **9 pitch ascent**. And once you reach the top you will get to see a **special bell** before **descending by way of several abseils**.

**Join me for one or more fantastic multi-pitch ice climbing days in the Dolomites! This mountain range in northern Italy is a prime option to climb on the ice.** 

When the waterfalls freeze in the winter, there is no time to waste! I love to go ice climbing every winter with my clients and friends because even if I repeat the location, the frozen terrain will be completely different.

The essence of this trip is multi-pitch ice climbing. We will start the day hiking to approach the start of the climbing route. As we climb and dive into the vertical frozen world, we will become part of the environment. Can you imagine that in a few months time, there will be no wall but abundant running water?

Multi-pitch does not necessarily mean demanding climbing. In fact, there will be routes of very varied levels. Depending on the ice conditions and your level, I will decide the exact route to take.

**I invite you to join me for one or more days exploring the wonderful domain of the Dolomites with your skis on.** Off-piste ski is a great option, whether you are looking to escape the crowded pistes for a day or you want to make a full program of it.

The Dolomites are a mountain range in northern Italy famous for their varied off-piste offer. In fact, there are numerous choices for all levels. It’s just a matter of discussing your skiing experience and your wishes for me to decide a possible itinerary. Of course, this will also depend on the weather and snow conditions.

For example, you might prefer gentle slopes to enjoy the silence of the mountains as you make a long descent. Or maybe you are looking for a more adventurous program? There are also plenty of steep slopes and couloirs.

**The Dolomites are a famous mountain range in northern Italy. And they are certainly a first class destination for ice climbing! Join me for one or more days and get a taste of the ice.** 

When winter arrives, it doesn’t only mean that snow is here and it’s time to ski. It’s also the magical time of the year when we can climb frozen waterfalls! This is a truly unique discipline. You will certainly love ice climbing if you already enjoy rock climbing. But it is not the same as climbing rocky walls. Ice climbing is an exhilarating experience, climbing an ephemeral wall that will be gone when temperatures rise.

I will choose the exact location based on the ice conditions at the time, as well as the weather forecast and your technical level. This program is suitable for beginners, but if you are already experienced don’t hesitate to ask me, as of course I can guide all levels.

The Dolomites are filled with beautiful and cosy small towns with B&B, hotels and apartment options. And the Italian cuisine will be the ultimate reward after an intense day on the ice!

##### Rock climbing in the Dolomites of Italy is a fantastic experience. And in the Odle massif, there are some great spots, one of which is Little Fermeda, which will be the focus of this exciting expedition.

Perfect for climbers of all levels, **Little Fermeda** can be **scaled by experts and beginners alike**. Hence making this trip very accessible. However, it is important that you are in **good enough physical conditio**n to make the climb. And having some **prior rock climbing experience** is a plus as well.

**Little Fermeda** is the **first Odle summit** from the **west side**. You can approach the normal route, which we will be taking, from either the **Col Raiser top station** or the **Seceda top station**. I prefer the **Seceda station**, as the path is incredibly scenic and only rises from **300 to 400 meters**. Covered with high grass, and very exposed amidst steep meadows, you will get to enjoy some truly unique, and thrilling, views. For the climb itself, there will be some tricky parts, but I will see to it you are safely guided at all times until we reach the top. And from the top, you will get to gaze at peaks as far as **Austria**. You will also get to see the **Sella group** and **Sassolungo**.

**I invite you to a full ski touring day in the stunning Italian Alps. We will be in the Park dell’Adamello.** From the Tonale pass, we will go to two of the most famous ski touring destinations of the area: **Pisgana and Pisganino**.

Pisganino includes an ascent of 400m, with a wonderful descent of over 2500m. And Pisgana is another gem, with a 650m ascent and an impressive descent of 2750m.

There are different possible access points to the Pisgana glacier. Since this is a one day program, I chose the one that includes the shortest climb. Therefore, the starting point of this ascent is Pisgana pass. Besides a short ascent, this routes allows us to descend Pisganino if the conditions in Pisgana are not appropriate.

We will meet in Ponte di Legno, in the province of Brescia, and start the tour at Passo Tonale. There, we take the lifts up to Presena pass (2950m). Then we descend on the southern side down to the Mandrone hut (2500m). Using skins or snowshoes, we ascend to Pisgana pass (2933m). Once we are up there, we have the option to descend following the Pisganino itinerary. Or, if the conditions are apt and you are up for it, we go up an additional 250m, and from there descend the Pisgana.
