My name is Elisabetta but everyone calls me Betty. I'm Italian but based in Lugano Ticino, in the Italian speaking part of Switzerland. I graduated in Environmental Science. Besides Italian, which is my native language, I also speak English and German.

I felt in love with the mountains as a child, during my first experience in the snow and tree climbing in my Grandpa's garden. Now many years have gone by, but my passion is still as strong!

I covered many trails and paths in the Alps as Monviso Ring, Monte Rosa Trek, Bernina Trek, Altavia n1 Dolomiti...

I've been to Patagonia (Hielo Continental Sur), Tanzania (Kilimanjaro 5985m), Nepal (Khumbu Valley), Bulgaria (Rodope), Canada (Quebec's Parks), Morocco (Toubkal 4167m), Spain (Sierra Nevada Mulhacen 3479m), Ireland (Carrantuohill 1.39m & Kerry Ring), Norway (Tromso), Mt. Elbrus (5642m) so far….

Since 2010 I’m an UIMLA Mountain Leader now joint to the Swiss organization ASAM and Nordic Walking instructor. I propose daily and weekly hiking tours between Como (Italy) and Lugano (Switzerland) and in the central part of the Alps from San Gottardo (CH) to Stelvio pass. Especially in Graübunden – Engadin (CH) and Valtellina (I).

No matter the season, any time of the year is good for hiking and exploring, so let’s do it together!!!

I invite you to join me in a challenging trek through the **Haute Route** from **Verbier to Zermatt**, in **Switzerland**! We will follow the trail of the famous skiing route, but enjoying the nice summer weather instead.

Most important, we will hike along glaciers and summits known all over the world! Also, we will even have the opportunity to see the **Matterhorn, one of the highest summits in the Alps**! Besides, we will enjoy the view of the Grand Combin Massif, Dent Blanche, Pigne D’Arolla, Bishorn, Weisshorn, and others.

We will begin our hike in **Verbier**, a village located in the canton of Valais, south-western Switzerland. It’s a popular ski area and holiday resort. It’s well known as one of the top off-piste resorts in the world. But now, we’re going to visit this beautiful city in summer!

And after six amazing days of trekking through huts and villages, our Haute Route will end with a delicious dinner and a well-deserved rest in the Swiss city of **Zermatt**.  We will spend a night there and get back on the seventh day.

Haute Route summer hiking tour from Verbier to Zermatt

**Join me in this 4 or 6-day tour of the mountains surrounding the south part of Lake Como and Switzerland**. This hike will take us up and down woods and mountains. In fact, we will see some of the most famous places of the west arm of the Lake. Furthermore, the trip includes a short excursion to Switzerland.

The route proposed by this trek follows a part of the **“Via dei Monti Lariani” hiking trail**. It is 125 km long and stretches out at an average altitude of 1000 m. It connects Como with the top of the Lake along the west side.

The original departure is generally from Cernobbio to the top of the lake but we will travel from North to South starting from **Menaggio**. In this way, we will have the opportunity to climb up some of the highest mountains. They are **Mte di Tremezzo** (1700 m) and **Mte Galbiga** (1968 m). In fact, from here we will have a wonderful 360° panorama.

Besides, we will visit some historical places of the **First World War** like the **trenches** built up by Italians against the possible invasion of the Germans through Switzerland. Then on the third day we will move to Switzerland, to the Italian speaking region Ticino. Here we will reach one the most famous mountain in this area: **Mte Generoso** (1701 m).

Have a look at the daily itinerary below for more information about the destinations. Furthermore, it’s possible to add other 2 days of trek starting from Como along the so-called **“Dorsale del Triangolo Lariano” trail** visiting the famous village of **Bellagio**.

The “Dorsale del Triangolo Lariano” is an amazing two-day hike of around 30 km that connects Como to Bellagio. It runs on the ridge of the mountain at 1200 m from South to North going by the “Triangolo Lariano”. The walk is long but not demanding, the paths are fairly easy. The second day, starting from P**ian del Tivano**, we climb up to the top of Monte San Primo (1682 m), the highest mountain in the area. All along the trek, we can enjoy the beautiful mountain landscapes. Moreover, approaching Bellagio we can see the **unique shape of lake** where the western and the eastern arms of the lake meet to form an inverted Y with the north arm.

**If you are planning to spend some days in this part of Italy, I strongly suggest this hike with its extension because of the history, tradition and spectacular panoramas. Please note that it is also possible to make the whole trail in fewer days: contact me for any information!**

**Join me in this pleasant 1-day hike in Monte Boglia (1516m), in Ticino.** It's in fact right at the border between Switzerland and Italy.

I particularly recommend this program in autumn. The views from the summit are beautiful, we will appreciate the many lakes in the area. In addition, we get a panorama of a large section of the western Alpine Arch. It's also a great hike to do with kids.

The trail begins going through the charming Brè, a village full of open-air art and well maintained houses. Then we leave the village and continue to Materone, surrounded by amply green slopes. We continue on a well traced path that cuts across the south slope of Monte Boglia in a beautiful beech forest.

We reach the Sasso Rosso at 1295 meters. There are some steep sections leading to the top. Finally, the way back down is along the north face of the mountain. We will walk in total about 4-5 hours.

Above the beautiful town of **Menaggio**, **Monte Bregagno** (2107 m) has a wonderful view of **Lake Como** and the **Alps**. In fact, we get to appreciate the 4000s of Switzerland.

The hike starts in **Breglia**. Then, the route goes along a sometimes steep path up to **Sant’Amate**. There the track becomes gentle and wide, following the ridge of the mountain until the top. On the way back, following the ridge at the foot of **Monte Grona**, we will have a break at the **Rifugio Menaggio**, located at an altitude of 1400 m. Here the landscape over Bellagio and the central area of the lake is fantastic.

**ITINERARY:** Breglia – Sant’Amate – Monte Bregagno – Rifugio Menaggio  
Duration: 6 hours  
Altitude change: 1000 m

The highlights of this trip are:  
– Stunning 360° panorama  
– A quiet and peaceful environment even though we are only a few km away from the lakeside  
– A good and balanced training, not too easy nor too demanding

**I invite you to a beautiful day hiking At the Piz Molinera, in the Lepontine Alps, in Switzerland.** 

Not only is the route very enjoyable, but the views from the top, at 2288 meters, are amazing! Indeed, we see the entire Bellini, the plain of Magadino and Lake Maggiore.

During the day trip you will have the opportunity to learn more about the local flora and fauna. We are surrounded by a beautiful forest. Besides, there is an educational trail and sculptures. And for those passionate about stars, it's possible to walk the path of the planets. There are good information panels about the sun and the planets. It's a beautiful tour to do with the family, apt for kids!

The ascent will be easier due to the Monti di Sauru cablecar. Besides, we will stop at the Brogoldone hut. We will walk during 4:30 – 5 hours in total.

Join me in this hike **in the heart of the Alps. From Graubünden to Valais, through 4 passes and 4 headwaters.** During this trip in **Switzerland**, we will see the importance of mountain passes and water for human development.

This unusual hiking tour connects some of the most famous passes of the **Central Alps:** **Oberalp**, **Gotthard**, **Nüfenen** and **Furka**.The trail follows the **4 Headwaters Trail**, a trek of about 85 km through the Swiss Central Alps. Here 4 of the most important rivers of Central Europe are born. They are **Rhine**, **Reuss**, **Ticino** and **Rhone.**Besides, this interesting hike crosses parts of the cantons **Uri**, **Graubünden**, **Ticino** and **Valais**. Indeed, we go through beautiful landscapes and places that became famous for trading between southern and northern Europe.
