I live in a small town called Plasencia, surrounded by the beautiful Sierra de Gredos, La Vera (Gredos south face with nice canyons), Jerte Valley (with Garganta de los Infiernos Nature Reserve and it's famous cherries), Monfragüe National Park, Sierra de Gata...

I started guiding in 2002, and obtained my AEGM and UIMLA guide certifications in 2012. My hobbies are closely related to my work: climbing, alpinism, canyoning, btt, kayaking, skiing...

**La Mira (2,341 ms) is one of the most visited peaks of Sierra de Gredos**, the main subrange of the Sistema Central, a long group of mountain ranges dividing the Iberian Peninsula in two. I am offering an amazing hike to its summit, which provides impressive panoramic views of the entire area.

**Sierra de Gredos stretches 140km between Cerro Guisando and Rio Alagón, in Central Spain. Its relief is dominated by valleys with big number of rivers and creeks.** This hike lead us to the summit of La Mira (2,343 m.),one of its most visited mountains.

**This peak is easy to climb and stands in a wonderful environment**: from its top we will enjoy a spectacular view of Circo de Gredos, an amazing glacial cirque, the very imposing rock faces of Galayos, and in the distance the Montes de Toledo.

**The traverse to La mira’s summit is a 18km circular trail.** It starts at Plataforma de Gredos and ascends to Puerto del Peón via Garganta de la Covacha. We will pass by Laguna del Cura, a glacier lagoon with water during the entire year. Another beautiful spot is El Raso (2,241 m.),with a magnificent view of the Back of the Galayos, a popular climbing area.

1-day hike to La Mira Peak summit in Gredos

**Morezón is one of the most visited mountains in Sierra de Gredos, the main subrange of the Sistema Central, the mountain range located in central Spain.** In this day tour we will climb to its summit and enjoy a privileged panoramic view of the entire area.

**Sierra de Gredos is a stunning cirque of high granite spires glaciated in the last ice age. With an altitude of 2,392 metres, Morezón is one of its most popular peaks.**  

We will hike to the top of Morezón over a 13km circular trail starting from Plataforma de Gredos. **The traverse is rather easy.** It goes by the river Garganta de Prados to the Lagoon of Gredos. In a section of the trail we will use ropes. 

Morezón is like the Gredo’s balcony. **From its summit you will see the natural landscape dominated by Circo de Gredos, an amazing glacial cirque, El Gargantón and the peak of La Mira.**

After taking our time for pictures we will follow the trail to the hut Refugio del Rey. In this charming refuge  where we will eat before going back to La Plataforma, via Garganta de Prado Puerto.

1-day hike to Morezón Peak in Gredos

**The Sierra de Gredos is one of the largest mountain subranges of the Central System.** It is located in Spain, covering part of the provinces of Toledo, Madrid, Cáceres, Salamanca, and Ávila. I am offering a 2-day tour to explore this amazing area and reach two of its most popular summits: La mira and Morezón.

**The Sierra de Gredos comprises primarily granite.** This rock consists mainly of mica, quartz and feldspar. They form imposing vertical faces around the area. 

**The first day we will hike to La Mira  (2,341 ms), one of the most visited peaks of Gredos. It is easy to climb and stands in a wonderful environment.** From its summit, we will enjoy an unforgettable panoramic view: the peaks of Los Galayos, the upper part of Circo de Gredos, and in the distance the Montes de Toledo.

**The following day we will head up to Morezón (2,389 m.). This peak  is the big buttress closing the east side of Circo de Gredos, a glacial cirque located in the northern slope of Sierra de Gredos.** The climb is rather easy, and you will also enjoy very good views of Laguna de Gredos and Pico Almanzor, the highest mountain in central Spain .
