We climbed Escola de Escalada da Guia with Joao and had an excellent outing. He is a great guide and a excellent teacher, giving you enough guidance without over-directing. This was our first time climbing outdoors and he picked the perfect spot for our experience level and had a lot of great insider knowledge about the location. Highly recommended!

João was an excellent guide. He was very informative providing knowledge both about climbing and the surrounding area. He was very patient, encouraging, and supportive while working with my friend who was new to climbing. He also knew when to push you out of your comfort zone a little but also knowing when you had reached your limit. The area where we climbed was also beautiful as it had an incredible view from the top. It was also a nice experience climbing on limestone. I would recommend this activity for beginners as well as experienced climbers as there were a number of routes in the area.

We had an amazing half day climbing with Joāo, he took us to an amazing crag by the ocean, and we climbed 5 routes on high quality rock. His knowledge about the area and climbing in general is impressive and his English is impecable. If you want to have some extra fun, ask about Rough Beard. It's not a pirate story.

Joāo was such a great guide! I really enjoyed our time together. I learned a lot from him about climbing in Portugal and ways to improve my climbing overall! Would definitely book another climb when I am in Portugal next.
