I've been working as a mountain guide for the past 30 years. I've done ascents in the Pyrenees, Alps and Himalayas, including Chooyu (8201m), Ama Dablam (6820m), Mera Peak (6461m, 9 ascents), Stock Kangri (6153m, 8 ascents) and Lenin Peak (7134m).

I live in Castejón de Sos, in Benasque valley (Huesca), near the highest peaks of the Pyrenees. There I guide ascents and traverse during summer and winter, doing ski touring, alpinism, rock climbing and trekking.

I also organize trekkings and ascents in the Alps, India and Nepal.

My other passion is paragliding, which I do since 1986. I'm a tandem pilot, and organize programs in Spain and Nepal for pilots.

### **Welcome to this ascent program to the Aneto Peak. I will guide you and help you conquer its summit in just one day!**

The **Aneto** is the highest summit of the Pyrenees. With an altitude of 3404 meters, it lies within the **Posets-Maladeta Natural Park** in the autonomous community of Aragon (Huesca, Spain).

The Aneto is part of the **Maladeta massif** and it is formed by Paleozoic terrains of granitic origin. In addition, on its north face lies the **Aneto Glacier**. It is the largest glacier in the Pyrenees.

However, it is in continuous regression as a result of the climate change. It may disappear in 30 or 40 years.

**Therefore, the moment to climb this mountain and enjoy the Pyrenees’ landscape is now!**

As for the itinerary, we will depart from **La Renclusa Hut** towards the Upper Portillón. In this way we can access the Aneto Glacier and from there, reach the Coronas Hills. Once here, we will be able to attack the summit after crossing the **Muhammad Bridge**, where we will use rope to overcome the section, if necessary.

The difficulty and technical level required for this adventure will depend on the time of year and the amount of snow. Anyway, it is essential to have **a good physical condition** since we must face an altitude change of 1530 meters in just a couple of hours.

It's my pleasure to be part of this great **half day program in Foradada del Toscar.** I would like to invite you to practice and enjoy some via ferrata itineraries in this magic place.

Foradada del Toscar is a Spanish municipality of **La Ribagorza**, in the province of Huesca, Aragon. It is an ideal place for the development of outdoor activities, such as via ferrata trips.

The Foradada del Toscar via ferrata has become very popular thanks to its length, high steps and a varied route. This via ferrata tour is divided into three sections. The first one is the more vertical which implies the highest altitude change. In the second section we will descend along the hidden side of the wall until we reach the footbridge. This is the access to the third section, the easiest one. All this route will be accompanied by the **best views of the Pyrenees' needles**.

To sum up, it will be **a total ascent of 600 meters** which will take us around 3 hours. Although it is not an initiation route, the good security system of the wall allows that **almost anyone in good physical form** can do it. All you will need is to be ready to enjoy the activity with the sensation of emptiness under your feet. Another advantage of Foradada del Toscar is that it's **available all year round**.

### **Are you ready to climb the 3308-meter-high** Maladeta **Peak?** 

The Maladeta Peak is a mountain summit very close to the [**Aneto Peak.**](https://www.explore-share.com/trip/guided-ascent-aneto-summit-one-day/) It is located in the **Posets-Maladeta Natural Park**, in the province of Huesca, Aragon. On its north slope lies the **Maladeta Glacier** with a total surface of 37 hectares.

It is also the sixth mountain above 3000 meters that forms the massif. Its top has several peaks like the Mir (3185 m), the Sayo (3220 m) and the Cordier (3254 m).

As for the itinerary, we will depart from **La Renclusa Hut** in direction to the Maladeta Glacier. We will leave the Upper Portillon in our right, moving towards the vertex of the glacier. From there we will ascend through the edge to finally reach the summit.

During the ascent we will gain an elevation of 1400 meters. The round trip will take **about 9 hours**. It is a mountain of **easy-intermediate difficulty.** That means that it is only necessary to have a good fitness level.

The **Rusell** is a rather forgotten peak where not many people go. So, if you enjoy the loneliness and peaceful of the mountains, this climb is perfect for you. It lies in the heart of the Benasque Valley, in Aragon, and inside the Posets-Maladeta Natural Park.

Regarding the itinerary, we will leave from the Coronas hut in direction to a bridge, through the Ballibierna Valley. This valley is located in the Central Pyrenees. That is why during the ascent we will witness one of the best panoramic views of the region. To the north of this valley we will see the Maladeta massif. This is a good peak to climb too. We will then walk uphill to **Lagos de Llosas** at 2500 meters. We will leave the upper lake by our left in order to ascend by a rocky and snowy trail. After that, we will reach a steep path that finally leads us to the Rusell's summit.

Although we will gain an elevation of 1250 meters, this mountain implies a minimal technical difficulty. That means that **it is only necessary to have a good physical condition**. The round trip will take approximately 8 hours.

### **Today I would like to invite you to the incredible via ferrata** El Castellaso**.**

Although it is not as famous as many others in Spain, it is a really great option for those who are taking their first steps in this activity. **El Castellaso** is located a few kilometers from the village of **Sesué**. It's a Spanish municipality of Huesca in Aragon. In addition, El Castellaso lies in the heart of the Pyrenees, offering the most stunning views.

Once we arrive at the base of El Castellaso, we will prepare all the necessary gear. Therefore, you should not forget to bring harness, helmet, dissipators, gloves and comfortable clothing.

The via ferrata El Castellaso is ideal for beginners thanks to its easy and well equipped routes. We will climb **a total of 280 meters** with an altitude change of only 180 meters.
