**Ski touring is the perfect way to explore North Patagonia’s valleys, mountains and high quality snow. Join me on this 1+ day ski touring program and discover why Bariloche is one of South America’s premier ski touring destinations!**

Every year,  skiers from all over the world come to the charming mountain town of Bariloche in search of a fantastic adventure.  I’ll find you the best routes to fit your level and wishes according to your preference.

Our first option is the **Van Titter Valley,** a gorgeous place located next to the **Cerro Catedral Ski Resort.** From Bariloche we can transfer all the way up to this famous resort (40 minutes), take the ski lifts and continue our adventure towards this famous valley. But if you are looking for a more challenging tour, we can explore **Filo de las Cabras** which is in the iconic mountain of **Cerro Lopez.** This ridge offers some of the best powder snow in the region. After a 45 minute drive from Bariloche, we’ll leave our car at 900 m and depending on the amount of snow, we’ll ascend walking or with our skis on. Once we reach the top, we’ll decide where to explore.

East of Bariloche, we can also go to **Cerro Challhuaco** which offers some of the most spectacular views of Patagonia. After a one hour drive, we’ll leave our car at 1,300 m and skin up (700 m) to the summit. For this trip, it’s important that all skiers are comfortable skiing through forested slopes as we’ll be exploring the amazing **Lenga Forest.**

On the border between Argentina and Chile and close to the charming town of **Villa La Angostura**, Cerro Mirador is another spectacular destination. After a two hour drive, we’ll leave our car at 1,300 m and skin up to the summit (1,750 m). Once we reach the top, we’ll enjoy the amazing views of **Lake Constancia** and the spectacular **Puyehue Volcano** in Chile.

Finally, our last option is to explore the **Cerro Perito Moreno Ski Resort** located in the Bolsón area (two hours drive from Bariloche). We’ll take the ski lifts (1500 m) and then continue ascending all the way up to the  Cerro Perito Moreno summit (2,206 m).

**Please bear in mind that these daily trips are designed for skiers that already have some ski touring experience and are physically fit.** The more experience you have, the more challenges we can take!

**Just 60 km away from San Carlos de Bariloche, Baguales Mountain Reserve is waiting to be explored. Join me on this 2-day ski touring adventure and discover this magical place in northern Patagonia!**

Covering 25,000 acres and containing a series of spectacular mountain refuges, Baguales Mountain Reserve presents the ideal setting for this ski touring expedition. Thanks to the diversity of the terrain and the high quality snow, this extensive mountain reserve is perfect for all types of skiing.

**Our starting point will be in the charming mountain town of Bariloche.** From there, we’ll leave early in the morning and drive to Baguales. During this skiing traverse we’ll always have amazing landscapes to admire and we’ll discover unique pristine forests and deep canyons.

**Regarding our accommodation, we can stay in the spectacular Refugio de la Mesada** **located at 1,700 meters.** But if you prefer to stay in another refuge, there are more options. Additionally, keep in mind that all participants must be experienced skiers and have a great physical condition.

Once we arrive, we’ll leave our belongings at our accommodation. Once we are all set, we’ll explore this spectacular area and return in the afternoon for a delicious dinner.

2-day ski touring in the Baguales Mountain Reserve

**Looking for a real ski touring experience? Come with me on this 2-day ski touring trip on the Lanin Volcano and discover this iconic Mapuche mountain!**

At 3,777 meters, the Lanin Volcano is one of the highest summits in Patagonia and is located on the border between Argentina and Chile. During this 2-day adventure, skiers will have the opportunity to discover its slopes while enjoying fantastic views of the Argentine Pampas and the beautiful Chilean forests and its unique lakes.

**According to the participant’s wishes, our journey can start in Junín de los Andes, San Martin de los Andes or Bariloche**. Early in the morning, we’ll drive to the north entrance of the volcano (1,146 m) and leave our car at the Lanín National Park’s entrance. Once we are all set, we’ll ascend to the BIM hut (2,315 m) where we’ll spend the night and get ready for our summit attack on the following day. **For a more detailed description of the trip, take a look at the itinerary below!**

Early in the morning we’ll leave drive to the north face entrance of the Lanín Volcano.

Once we are all set, we’ll ascend to the BIM hut (2,315 m). We’ll take our food and our sleeping bags.

This day is all uphill (1,170 m).

In the afternoon, we’ll enjoy a delicious dinner and stay the night in the hut.

We skin up to the summit of the Volcano where we’ll take some pictures and enjoy the spectacular views.

Then, we’ll return to our hut to look for our belongings and continue our descend to the base.

From the base, we’ll go to Junín de los Andes or San Martin de los Andes for the night. And if you are staying in Bariloche, we’ll return on the next morning.

2-day ski touring on the Lanin Volcano – Patagonia, Argentina

**Ideal for skiers who are looking for a new and remote place to explore in North Patagonia, I invite you to follow me on this 2-day ski touring adventure in Cerro Piltriquitron, in El Bolsón!**

Located 120 km from the charming mountain town of Bariloche, El Bolsón is an awesome hippie town known for its relaxed vibe and beautiful handicraft market. Surrounding this unique town, at 2,284 m, Piltriquitrón holds an enigmatic charm and offers a unique spot for our 2-day ski touring trip.

Early in the morning, we’ll leave from Bariloche and go to El Bolsón. After a short stop in this magical town, we’ll continue our journey and leave our car in the **Cerro Piltriquitron parking lot (1,200 m)**. With our skis on, we’ll start ascending to the Cerro Piltriquitron Summit and on our way up, we’ll leave our things in our charming mountain hut. On the following day, we’ll explore **Cerro Huemules (1,910 m)** and in the afternoon return back to Bariloche. **To participate in this program all participants will need to have some prior ski touring experience as well as a good fitness level.**

And after a long day of ski touring, we’ll return back to Refugio Frey where we’ll relax and enjoy delicious homemade meals.
