Join us for an exciting start to your ice and snow school adventure on the right bank of the Tour glacier. Upon arrival, you will meet with your guide at the equipment rental store for individual equipment setup (retrieval for those who have pre-requested it), as well as a briefing session.

Afterward, we'll start our journey to the village of Le Tour, approximately 20km away, via minibus. From there, we'll ascend via the Col de Balme ski lifts, eventually reaching the Albert 1er refuge at an altitude of 2702 meters on the right bank of the Tour glacier.

In the afternoon, near the refuge, the snow and ice school awaits, providing a captivating learning experience against the backdrop of the stunning glacier.

Journey to Albert 1er refuge

Setting off from the Albert 1er refuge, we prepare our crampons in preparation for the ascent of Tête Blanche, a peak culminating at 3429 meters above sea level. Our journey continues as we traverse the Col Supérieur du Tour, ultimately arriving at the Trient cabin situated at 3170 meters.

Ascending Tête Blanche

Starting from the Trient cabin, we'll ascend the Col Supérieur du Tour. Then we'll return to the Albert 1er refuge for a brief interlude before starting our descent towards the village of Le Tour.

Once in the village, we'll continue our descent back to the refuge and eventually to the village of Le Tour. Upon our return to the lodge, the guide will gather with the group to discuss the remainder of the itinerary, taking into account the current weather forecast and mountain conditions.

Additionally, the guide will provide training for the teams preparing for the ascent of Mont Blanc.

Col Supérieur du Tour

Starting from the Mont Blanc tramway station to Nid d’Aigle, we climb towards the Tête Rousse refuge, perched at 3167 meters. This initial stage serves as a gentle introduction to our Mont Blanc ascent.&#x20;

Our journey begins in the late morning as we head towards the village of Les Houches, where additional guides join the group and ropes are prepared for the climb.

We ascend to Bellevue via cable car, then continue to Nid d'Aigle aboard the Mont Blanc tramway. The route initially leads us beneath the Rognes ridge, followed by a hike across the north face, before emerging onto a snowy plateau leading to the Tête Rousse refuge.

Once there, the afternoon is dedicated to rest and acclimatization, affording us the opportunity to revel in the exquisite vistas of the north face of Bionnassay.

Climb to the Tête Rousse refuge

This challenging Mt Blanc ascent follows the rocky slope of the Aiguille du Goûter. A wide corridor at the base of the slope is susceptible to rockfall, emphasizing the importance of following the guide’s instructions.

The climb will then feature sections equipped with cables or ropes. As night falls, time seems to dissolve, and we ascend to the Dôme du Goûter at 4304m. Here, the Vallot bivouac refuge, though unattended, provides a potential sanctuary for mountaineers in need.

With the dawn, renewed energy accompanies the warming sun as we draw closer to the summit. The Bosses ridge emerges. Your guide will ensure the rope is securely taut as you navigate this awe-inspiring ridge.

After surmounting the final hump, the ridge broadens, unveiling the vast and inviting summit. Welcome to the pinnacle of Mont Blanc at 4810m!

Returning to Chamonix, the descent follows the familiar path towards Nid d'Aigle, where we catch the Mont Blanc Tramway. Upon reaching Les Houches via cable car, we rendezvous with our vehicles.

Lunch can be enjoyed either upon arrival of the cable car at Bellevue or in Chamonix after returning your equipment.

The hike begins with an overview of the route and individual equipment preparation, followed by bag inspections. Departure will begin from the Charamillon car park in Le Tour, ascending to reach the Albert 1er refuge situated at 2702m.

Accommodation: Refuge Albert 1er;&#x20;

Elevation gain: approximately 1200 m; 4 to 5 hours of walking

Arrive to the Albert 1er refuge

Our journey today takes us from the Albert 1er refuge to the village of Champex, starting around 7 a.m. Our route involves crossing the Swiss border via the Col Supérieur du Tour. From there, we hike to the Trient glacier to reach the Col d'Orny. Following a path, we arrive at the Breya chairlift near the Aiguilles d'Arpette, facilitating our descent to Champex.

Accommodation: Gîte in Champex&#x20;

Positive altitude difference: approximately 750m

Negative altitude difference: approximately 1000m; 6 to 7 hours of walking

The Col Supérieur du Tour

From Champex, our next destination is the Chanrion cabin at 2462m. We'll transfer by vehicle from Champex to the Mauvoisin dam before ascending to the Chanrion cabin.&#x20;

On this leg of the journey, you'll be able to view magnificent peaks such as the Grand Combin and Mont Gelé.

Accommodation: Chanrion Cabin.

Climb to the Chanrion cabin

Today we'll hike across the expansive Otemma Glacier, which surpasses even the renowned Mer de Glace, spanning 22km2 and stretching 10km in length. Our journey across this glacier offers incredible unique views of the iconic Pigne d'Arolla, a favorite among mountaineers.&#x20;

Our ascent continues to the Vignettes cabin perched at 3158m atop a cliff.

Climb to the Cabane des Vignettes

Our route will lead us from the glacial valleys to the Bertol hut at 3311m, a journey through the Col de l'Evêque (3392m), Col Collon (3087m), and the Haut glacier d'Arolla.&#x20;

After leaving the glacial terrain, we follow a trail that brings us to the Bertol cabin in just two hours. Positioned at 3311m atop a rocky spur, the cabin offers a spectacular and original viewpoint overlooking the iconic Matterhorn.

Positive altitude difference: approximately 1150m

Negative altitude difference: approximately 1000m; 6 to 7 hours of walking

Haut glacier d'Arolla.

Ascend to Tête Blanche (3724m), while soaking in the viewa of the Dent d'Hérens, Dent Blanche, Matterhorn, and the Zermatt valley. Following this, we'll descend from the Stockji glacier towards the Schönbiel hut (2694m), concluding this leg of our adventure.

Ascent to Tête Blanche

We'll descend to Zermatt, tracing the north face of the Matterhorn, known as one of the most challenging walls in the Alps. For those opting to return to Chamonix, transportation is available via minibus (taxi), arriving in Chamonix by late afternoon (taxi fare to be paid on-site).

Upon arrival at the Geneva airport, you will be transferred to your 3-star hotel in the heart of Chamonix at 2 PM. Chamonix is a historic town that has twice hosted the Winter Olympic Games. Explore the streets and sample the famous "Savoie" wine.

In the evening, meet with your group and guide for a briefing on your trip and equipment recommendations. Dinner is at your leisure in town. This is your first chance to savor some alpine specialties in the traditional restaurants surrounding your hotel.

Arrival to Geneva airport

We start our day with a short transfer to Les Praz village and a cable car ride to La Flegere, where you'll be greeted by views of thethe Mer de Glace. Our hike begins on a balcony path, leading us to Lac Blanc and its spectacular panorama of the massif: the Drus, the Vert, the Aiguille du Midi, and of course, Mont Blanc.&#x20;

We'll have a delightful picnic lunch with this incredible vista before descending via one of the most stunning trails in France, which borders the Cheserys lakes. We'll spend the night in a wooded hotel setting in Argentière.

Journey to La Flegere

After breakfast, we'll embark on a short private transfer to cross the Swiss border. Our hike begins through a forest of pine and larch trees, leading us to the pastures of Bovine. Here, we'll enjoy lunch surrounded by the panorama of verdant forests carpeting the mountains.

The majestic Combins massif remains in our sights throughout the day, guiding us towards Champex, a lakeside village where we'll spend the night.

Reach Champex

A brief private shuttle ride whisks us away to La Fouly, where we start our hike from the hamlet of Ferret. An ascent leads us to Col Ferret, where we're rewarded with stunning views of the Val Ferret and the nearby glacier. Italy graciously welcomes us as we descend to Arnouva, where we board a bus that will transport us to our hotel in Courmayeur.

In the evening, you have the option of joining the group for dinner, savoring the delectable flavors of traditional Italian Alpine cuisine offered in Courmayeur's charming restaurants.

Hiking Col Ferret

Today, we have a well-deserved rest day to rejuvenate our weary feet. In the morning, we'll go for an adventure aboard the Skyway Monte Bianco, ascending to Punta Helbronner. Within just 10 minutes, you'll find yourself in a breathtaking panorama of Mont Blanc and the most majestic peaks in Europe. We'll have lunch in Courmayeur and spend the afternoon at our leisure.

For those seeking an adrenaline rush, a thrilling rafting descent awaits. Alternatively, if relaxation is your preference, you can indulge in a tranquil afternoon at the Thermes of Pre-Saint-Didier. As evening descends, we'll return to Courmayeur for dinner and a restful night's sleep.

Explore Courmayeur 

We'll board our trusty bus and embark on a scenic journey to Visailles at the foot of the Miage glacier. From here, we'll stretch our legs and begin our ascent to the Lée Blanche valley, where sheep graze peacefully during the summer months.&#x20;

Our path leads us to the Seigne pass, where we'll cross the border and return to France. The majestic south face of Mont Blanc will now be behind us. We'll continue our descent to Les Chapieux, where we'll spend the night in a traditional alpine lodge.

Our final day of trekking starts with a challenging ascent to the Col Du Bonhomme.&#x20;

We'll continue our journey to the Croix du Bonhomme, an ideal spot to pause for lunch and savor the amazing vistas of the Mont Blanc Range. Our path then takes us on a sharp descent through a sublime gorge, fringed by a verdant pine forest.&#x20;

We'll emerge onto an ancient Roman Road, which leads us to the historic chapel of Notre Dame de la Gorge in the town of Contamines. From here, we'll board a private bus for a smooth transfer back to Chamonix, where we'll check into our hotel and gather for a farewell dinner, marking the end of our trekking adventure.

Col Du Bonhomme ascent

On our last day of the tour, you'll have the opportunity to spend your morning exploring the delightful array of shops, museums, and regional culinary delights that Chamonix has to offer. Then, around 9 am, we'll provide transportation back to Geneva airport for your return flight.

Welcome to the Dolomites!

Transfer by minibus to Passo Falzarego, the starting point for the Cinque Torri hike, an emblematic historic site of the Dolomites. The trail begins to climb gently.

Advance through a magnificent field of stones and arrive at the foot of Averau, a rocky citadel culminating at an altitude of 2649 meters. You will circle the mountain and soon arrive at the Nuvolau pass. From there, it is possible to climb the summit of the same name. The panoramic view is well worth the 150 m of additional elevation gain!

You will then reach the Cinque Torri, renowned among climbers and a place of major historical interest. They were the scene of violent battles between Italian and Austro-Hungarian troops during the First World War, and the remains of these battles are still visible today.

Return to Pocol in the afternoon.

Cinque Torri hike

Starting from the Falzarego pass, we start our day with the ascent to Lagazuoi. At the top, we will have a 360-degree view, and we will see the Marmolada and its glacier in the distance, the roof of the Dolomites, culminating at 3343m above sea level!

During our ascent, we will discover military remains which, like the day before, date from the First World War. We then descend to the foot of impressive vertical cliffs in a pleasant valley, to arrive at the Scotoni refuge, frequented by Italian families. From there, we go up to the Valparola pass and then join our minibus at the Falzarego pass. Return to Pocol.

Lagazuoi ascent

Hike to the iconic Tofana di Rozes! Its towering rock walls are renowned for their challenging via ferrata routes. Today, we'll circumnavigate this majestic peak along a splendid balcony path, commencing from the Dibona refuge. The trail offers incredible vistas of nearby peaks, including the Cinque Torri, explored yesterday, and the forthcoming discovery of Croda del Lago. The Travenanzes valley will also unfold before us.

Return journey to Pocol.

Transportation: Private Minibus or Taxi | Elevation Gain: 1000m | Descent: 1000m | Duration: 6 hours | Accommodation: Dinner at a restaurant in Cortina and overnight stay at the Hotel Argentina in Pocol.

Tofana di Rozes

Explore the wonders of Croda del Lago as we hike from the base of Col Giau. Beginning amidst lush woods, we ascend along a scenic path that gradually opens up to panoramic views. The rugged mountains around us bear witness to the forces of nature.

Circling the imposing and vertical cliffs of Croda del Lago, we then descend gently to the tranquil shores of Lago di Federa. Our return path winds through the forest, leading us back to the minibus. Afterward, we return to Pocol, followed by dinner at a recommended restaurant in Cortina, where the guide will offer their insights.

Discover Croda del Lago

Our grand finale awaits at the 3 Cime di Lavaredo! Begin the day with a private transfer to Misurina, nestled at the base of the hill leading to the Auronzo refuge. Our journey begins with a forest ascent to the Auronzo refuge, followed by entry into the renowned 3 Cime park, home to the mythical peaks of the Dolomites.

Gaze upon the towering stone giants, with the majestic Cima Grande, the highest of the three at 2999 meters above sea level, flanked by Cima Ovest and Cima Piccola. Next, we venture to the Locatelli refuge, offering unparalleled views of the north face of these iconic peaks. Embark on a scenic tour around these majestic mountains before descending through the forest back to Misurina.

For those needing respite, there's the option to take a bus to Auronzo (ticket not included). Later in the afternoon, return to Cortina, marking the end of our unforgettable journey.

On this program, we will show you the way to the top of this lovely peak, and you will experience all of its splendor.

During the first day of the trip, we’ll enjoy an easy 3-hour hike to **Rifugio Chabod.** Then, on day 2, we will climb to the summit of Gran Paradiso and enjoy the stunning views that have earned it its name before coming back down to the Victor Emmanuel refuge.&#x20;

Before bidding farewell, we'll cap off our adventure with a contemplative ascent of Tresenta, offering splendid views of the Gran Paradiso massif. Then we'll descend to the Victor Emmanuel II refuge and return to the valley at the end of the afternoon.

**This is a very special ascent because:**

* We may have the chance to observe Alpin animals (like ibex and chamois) on the way to the hut;
* Italian huts are always very welcoming and the food is fantastic;
* The views are breathtaking on the way up, down, and from the summit;
* The Gran Paradiso is very often climbed by mountaineers who want to prepare and acclimatize for ascending Mont Blanc.

Starting from Chamonix early in the morning, you'll meet your guide for a briefing on the trip and equipment check, including rental if needed. Then, it's off to Italy's Valsavarenche valley, about 70km away. Once at the Pravieux mountain pasture (1834m), you'll begin your ascent to the Chabod refuge (2750m) along a well-marked path.

**Accommodation:** Chabod Refuge.

Journey towards Chabod refuge

We'll set off very early for the ascent of Gran Paradiso, where you'll be able to catch a glimpse of Mont Viso, Monte Rosa, the Mont Blanc massif, and other peaks! This route features diverse glacial slopes, culminating in a rocky summit push to the Virgin Peak. Don't forget to capture this magical moment with a photo! Afterward, we'll descend to the Victor Emmanuel refuge.

**Max Altitude:** 4061 meters

**Accommodation:** Refuge Victor Emmanuel II.

Ascent of Gran Paradiso  

We'll start the glacial ascent via the Montcorvé glacier, leading us to the summit scree of Tresenta (3609m)—yet another breathtaking viewpoint overlooking the Gran Paradiso massif.&#x20;

We'll then descend to the Victor Emmanuel II refuge and make our way back to the valley by late afternoon.

Tresenta summit

Trek starts in Pont (Valsavarenche) where there’s a nice camping.

You can fly to Geneva, Turin or Milan, rent a car and a drive to Pont (Valsavaranche). It will take you +/- 2 1/2 hour from Geneva, +/- 1 hour 50 min from Turin, 2 hours 40 min from Milan.
