**Located on the ‘Ring of Fire’ of the Pacific, Lanin Volcano —a 3776 m peak with a glacier on its top— is perfect for your splitboarding practice.**

You will have the privilege of ascending this exceptional formation in Patagonia for about 5 to 7 hours and finally enjoy a snowboard descent, gaining speed and a new exciting experience!

We will start our program in **Bariloche**, from where we’ll have a 4 or 5 hour drive to the **Tromen Pass.** Called Mamuil Malal in the original Mapuche language, this international mountain pass connects Argentina and Chile and will be the starting point of our adventure. From this point, we will climb to the camp site for 4 or 5 hours. We will spend the night in tents under a sky full of stars, or at a comfortable hut if places are available.

On day 3 the real action starts: we will reach the **summit of Lanin Volcano,** a giant king with a glacier as its crown. Afterwards, we will descend snowboarding to end an incredible 4-day expedition.

Keep in mind that the trail is fairly moderate with steeps of no more than 40º inclination. You won’t need any special technical skills (besides knowing how to use your splitboard), but it is essential to be fit. Also, crampons may be needed.

“The huge of Patagonia” with more than 2.500 meters of slopes to ski. **Lanin Volcano** at 3.776 meters is an emblem not only of the province of Neuquén but the entire Patagonia and that’s why it is venerated as the “Gigante empachado” (The giant surfeited ) by Araucanos. **Lanin Volcano** is located in a perfect region full of Araucarias and wildlife which makes this place visible from more than 200 km far.

The trail is moderate with steeps of no more than 40° of inclination so you don’t need any special technical skill but a good physical condition. What make this place very attractive to skiers are the steep slopes from the base and its Patagonian weather with the wind as the main star.

Here you have the full program of the trip:

**DAY 1: STARTING POINT**

Transfer from Bariloche to the base camp in Tromen Pass during 4-5 hours of drive.

**DAY 2: CLIMB DAY**

We will climb up to the camp site 1 after 4 or 5 hours. Overnight in tents or in the mountain hut if places are available

**DAY 3: LANIN SUMMIT**

We will leave the camp 1 and climb to the **Lanin Volcano summit**. It will take us about 5 and 7 hours. Crampons may be needed. Another overnight in camp 1.
