Mountain Guide
Yamanashi, Hokkaido, and Alaska
AMGA
JMGA
I am a JMGA and AMGA certified mountain guide, and also work as a cat ski guide in Japan and a heli ski guide in Alaska.
I was born and raised in the center of Tokyo, but I really loved to play in the nature since early stages of my life. I was also truly inspired by many stories on explorations and adventures that I picked up from my father’s bookshelf, which led me to start dreaming about the wilderness of Alaska. During my college days in Japan, I was enjoying snowboarding and got more and more into mountaineering. After graduation, my longtime aspiration for Alaska led me to enroll at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. In Alaska, I was enjoying activities in the wilderness, in particular, I became passionate about climbing and snowboarding that involves a glacier approach on my splitboard.
While I was in Alaska, I had the great opportunity for ascents on remote and challenging mountains in Eastern / Central Alaska and the Delta range including Denali (6,194m).
Upon my return to Japan, I became passionate about Himalayan peaks, but my recent interests are back to its roots - enjoy the rather beautiful Japanese mountains and the remote / rarely travelled North American mountains.
Now I work as both a mountain guide and a snowboard guide all over the world. I feel happy when I can share thrilling experiences with other people through my guiding.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
