I'm a pioneer trekker, trekking guide, trekking entrepreneur, mountain rescuer and senior mountaineering instructor. I was the first person to undertake solo mountaineering expeditions in Nepal. I summited Mont Makalu solo in 1982, as a result of which many other mountaineers started going on solo expeditions.  
My experience in the trekking industry in Nepal is unmatched. Over the last 30 years, I have organized and conducted countless expeditions, led VVIP trips, including accompanying the Prince and Princess of Spain, and surveyed many new trekking routes. I have received many awards and recognitions. I participated in many trainings, seminars and also conducted many trainings on mountaineering.  
I'm the main co-coordinator for the Himalayan Rescue Association of Nepal and the founding member of Nepal National Mountain Guide Association (NNMGA). I'm currently the Vice President of this organization and thanks to our efforts, the Nepal National Mountain Guide Association became a member of the International Union of Mountaineering Associations in 2007. I'm a IFMGA/UIAGM mountain guide since 2013.

**DOLPO!** The word conjures up visions of mysterious monasteries of snow leopards and blue sheep. A land beyond the Himalaya.  
Laying in western Nepal, Dolpo is one of the most remote of Nepal’s regions. By special permit, we are able to offer this-day trek through upper and lower Dolpo.  
Our route follows much of the route taken by Peter Mathiessen and George Schaller as described in “The snow Leopard”.  
We trek 200 miles, averaging 10 miles a day. We spend 6-8 hours a day trekking. Several layover days are planned. Porters carry a day pack with the things you need for the day.  
Participants should be in good shape. We are at high elevation much of the time on this trip. Many small and high passes are crossed in this trek and steep climbs and descents are also made.

**Day by Day Itinerary**

**Day 01**: Arrival at international Airport at Tribhuvan international Airport. Meet assist and transfer to Hotel

**Day 02**: Preparation for the trekking and special permit making.

**Day 03**: Flight Kathmandu – Nepalgunj. Drive to Bardia National park.

**Day 04**: Jungle Activities and relax at Bardia National Park.

**Day 05**: Return back to Nepalgunj from Bardia National Park.

**Day 06**: Morning Flight from Nepalgunj to Juphal Airport (2440m) and same day walk up to Roop Ghar (2040m). Stay overnight at Roop Ghar on a Tented Camp.

**Day 07**: Trek from Roop Ghar to Ankhe Khola (2450m). Overnight on a Tented Camp

**Day 08**: Trek from Ankhe Khola to Reji (2940m). Overnight on a Tented Camp

**Day 09**: Trek from Reji to Ringmo (3540m). Overnight on a Tented Camp

**Day 10**: Stay another night for acclimatize and excursion around the Lake. Overnight on a Tented Camp

**Day 11**: Trek from Ringmo to Sallaghari (3650m). Overnight on a Tented Camp

**Day 12**: Trek Sallaghari to High Camp (4880m). Overnight on a Tented Camp

**Day 43**: Drive from Pokhara to Bandipur Village (1340m). Ancient Newar village filled with ethnicity and beautiful sights. Overnight on a Tea House or Lodge

**Day 44**: Drive from Bandipur to Daman (2120m). Daman is a wonderful place to witness the panoramic view of Mountain Range. Overnight on a Lodge or Hotel

**Day 45**: Drive from Daman to Bhaktapur. After reaching Bhaktapur take an evening sightseeing at Bhaktapur and stay overnight at Shiva Guest House.

**Day 46**: Drive back to Kathmandu from Bhaktapur. Check in at hotel and stay overnight at Kathmandu.

**Day 47**: Rest and free day for shopping and relax. Overnight at Hotel

**Day 48**: Drive to International Airport for the Final Departure.

DOLPO “The Land Of Bon”

High in the heart of the eastern Himalaya, seven valleys radiate from **Mount Makalu**, the world’s third highest peak.

These valleys, particularly the **Barun valley**, treasure some of the last remaining pristine forests and alpine meadows of Nepal.

From the bottom of the **Arun valley**, at just 435 m above sea level, the Himalaya rise to the snow-capped tip of Makalu (8.463m) within a 40 km distance. Within this wide range of altitudes and climate, the Makalu-Barun area contains some of the richest and most diverse pockets of plants and animals in Nepal, elsewhere lost to spreading human habitation.

The communities of Rai, Sherpa and Shingsawa (Bhotia) live in these valleys. Although the area is economically poor and isolated, the inhabitants retain a rich cultural heritage. They hold the key to the preservation of the unique biological and cultural treasures of the Makalu Barun area.

Your trip will last for 33 days. You’ll find here below the day by day program and the full itinerary. These ones could be adapted based on the time you have and what you would like to do and see. You can get in touch with me and we can discuss about it.

**Day 1**: Arrival Kathmandu. Transfer to Hotel Tibet. Check in and rest for the day. Overnight at Hotel Tibet  
**Day 2**: Preparation and briefing for the trekking.  
**Day 3**: After Breakfast early morning fly from KTM – Tumlingtar. Drive from Tumlingtar to Num (1560m).  
**Day 4**: Start of the trekking: Early morning breakfast and walk from Num to Seduwa (1500m).  
**Day 5**: After breakfast trek from Seduwa to Tashigaon (2100m).  
**Day 6**: Tashigaon to Khongma Danda (3500m).  
**Day 7**: Khongma Danda to Dobate (3520m) via two passes Tutu la (4125m) and Keke la (4170m).  
**Day 8**: Dobate to Yangla Kharka (3557m).  
**Day 9**: Yangla Kharka to Makalu Base camp (4870m).  
**Day 10**: Lower B.C. visit Base camp area.  
**Day 11**: Lower B.C to Yangla kharka (3557m).  
**Day 12**: Yangla kharka to Dobate (3520m).  
**Day 13**: Dobate to Khongma Danda (3500m).  
**Day 14**: Khongma La to Tashi Gaon (2100m).  
**Day 15**: Tashi Gaon to Seduwa (1500m).  
**Day 16**: Seduwa to Walung (910m).  
**Day 17**: Walung to dobadak (2240m).  
**Day 18**: Visit cave and rest day.  
**Day 19**: Saisima Gumba Visit (2340m).  
**Day 20**: Dobatak to Chauri Kharka (3420m).  
**Day 21**: Chauri Kharka to Shintap (1850m).

Trekking to the Makalu Base Camp

**Mustang** district is set in the Himalayan region of Western Nepal at an altitude of 2.000- 8,167 meters. Located high in the harsh and rocky plains of the Himalayas is the feudal Kingdom of Upper Mustang. It is a sparsely populated region where an ancient Tibetan culture still reigns, protected from outside influence by its remote and inhospitable location.

The kingdom was founded in the 14th century by Ama-pal, the famous Tibetan warlord. Today Ama-pal’s 25th successor King Jigme Palvar Bista rules over his 7000 subjects from Lo-Manthang, the capital of Upper Mustang. His people are scattered amongst a series of 28 small communities and nomadic tribes. Upper Mustang maintains its own social hierarchy, culture and administrative norms that manage the social practices and natural resources of the region. The population is of Tibetan origin and Buddhism is practiced here.

**Day by Day Itinerary**

**Day 01**: Arrival in Kathmandu at Tribhuvan International Airport. Meet, assist and Transfer to Hotel.

**Day 02**: Briefing and Preparation day for trekking.

**Day 03**: Fly or drive to Pokhara and transfer to hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.

**Day 04**: Fly to Jomsom (2700m). Acclimatization day, (visit Marpha a typical village of Jomsom) 5 hrs

**Day 05**: Trek to Kagbeni (2858m). Jomsom is the administrative headquarter of Mustang. During the flight time you will witness excellent view of Ganesh peak, Manaslu peak, fishtail peak, Annapurna range, Nilgiri peak, Dhaulagiri peak and Tukche Himal. From Jomsom the trail goes along the sandy and graveled river bed of Kaligandaki. While walking on the riverbed one can find the ancient holy tone “Saligram” which was formed some 300 million years ago. After about 45 minutes’ walk you will arrive at Aklai Bhatti. There are 2 hotels here. Form Aklai Bhatti the trail becomes gently ups and downs to the Kagbeni. It takes about one hour to Kagbeni from Aklai Bhatti. Total 3 hours’ trek approx.

**Day 06**: Kagbeni – Chele (3050m). From Kagbeni there is a trail up to the bank of Kaligandaki that climbs over many ridges. After about 3 and half hours, you will arrive at Chhuksang. Continuing north, the trail now leaves Kali Gandaki Valley and climbs steeply up a rocky gully to Chele. This is the first village of upper Mustang valley. From here the culture changes from Manang culture to Tibetan culture. The approx. walking is 5 hours.

**Day 07**: Chele to Shyammochen (3806m): From Chele the trail is steep up to the Gyanger village. From Gyangar the climb continues a long, treeless, waterless desert-like sandy field up to the pass of 3806m and the trail gradually descend about 1hour to the village of Shyammochen.

**Day 08**: Shyammochen to Dhakmar (Tramar) 3200m: After break fast, you gently climb for about 1 hour to reach Giling. From here also gently climb to cross Nya La (3950m) 2hrs. Easy trial to reach you Ghami and half an hour climb than after easy trail to reach Dhakmar.

**Day 09**: Dhakmar to Tsarang (3560m) via Lo Geker: You will find easy trail half an hour then after stiff climbing up for about 1 hour to cross the LO Gekar 4100m and down to the Lo Gar Gompa.

**Day 10**: Tsarang to Lo – Manthang (3560m)

**Day 11**: Excursion of Lo –Manthang Village (Thinkar Valley)

**Day 12**: Excursion of Chyosar valley.

**Day 13**: Lo Manthang to Yara (4000m).

**Day 14**: Visiting Lhuri valley caves and Gumbas back to Yara.

**Day 15**: Yara to Tangya (3240m)

**Day 16**: Tangya to Chuksang (3050m)

**Day 17**: Chuksang to Kagbeni (2858m)

**Day 18**: Kagbeni to Jomsom (2700m).

**Day 19**: Morning flight from Jomsom to Pokhara

**Day 20**: Fly back to Kathmandu and Leisure day in Kathmandu

**Day 21**: Free day for shopping and leisure

**Day 22**: Departure
