I have been passionate about nature since my childhood, which I spent in the forests and meadows of the Botte du Hainaut in Belgium. As an adult, becoming a mountain leader and spending my days outdoors came quite naturally. I now have more than 10 years of experience guiding people around Namur's trails.

Apart from a mountain leader, I´m also a nature guide, environmental consultant and educator. I live in the Namur region and am a proud new parent!

##### Immerse yourself in the natural and cultural richness of Wallonia! Spend a day touring the city of Namur and put your finger on the pulse of the heart beat of Belgium!

Known through the centuries as an important trading hub, Namur is located in the center of Belgium. It is also situated in the middle of three distinct geographic regions, and at the confluence of the **Sambre and Meuse Rivers**. The varied landscape of the region includes forests, hills, mountains, and rivers, accompanied by the natural wonders that are associated with each.

The flora and fauna of Namur are just as intriguing, featuring **wall lizards**, **nemusian butterflies**, and even **great duke owls** as some of the most popular natives. The land formations of this geological crossroads allow for unique ecosystems to flourish.

Namur is watched over by its **citadel**, one of its most **prized landmarks** and an important **heritage site of the Walloon region**, propped above the city where the two rivers meet. It was originally built in the Middle Ages and rebuilt over the years following certain military conflicts in the late 17th century and 19th century. It has since been demilitarized and is a popular tourist destination.

Our program through this magnificent city will expose hidden gems of this historic location. We will meet in **Saint Aubain Square**, home to a captivating cathedral with deep cultural roots. We will pass through the corners that many people do not get to see, and experience this amazing city as a local.

We will view it from the citadel as well, to give you an idea of the immense history of Wallonia. From the rocks peering over the city, you will see an area that was an **important and strategic landscape** during both World Wars.

Our trek will take us through beautiful countryside, where we can **pick edible plants** to include in a scrumptious picnic. We will also visit an **old limestone quarry** with the hopes to experience some of Namur´s **remarkable biodiversity**.
