Located in the northwestern part of **Georgia, Svaneti is a historical province popular among explorers.** There are numerous **picturesque villages** near Svaneti which are just ideal for skiing. You can choose from a range of terrains including high peaks and venture into a completely unexplored area on this trip. You won’t find a lot of crowd in the region and can also find yourself alone in one ski tour place, exploring the stunning beauty of the area.

Our ski touring expedition will begin by meeting you at the airport of **Tbilisi, Kutaisi or Batumi** and then, heading towards Mestia. The rest of the days will be spent exploring the stunning **Georgian Caucasus range** and **skiing through the beautiful villages** around Svaneti.

We’ll **customize the trip** according to your skill level and you sure can let me know how many vertical meters you wish to climb in a day. And don’t worry, we won’t go over 2000 vertical meters in a day.

This is a **family-friendly trip** which has something for everybody! From beginners to seasoned skiers, anyone can join me as long as you have a fit body and loads of enthusiasm.

7 days ski touring around Svaneti, Georgia

**Join me to climb the north summit of the notable peak of Ushba in the Caucasus Mountains. Located in the Svaneti region in Georgia, Ushba is popularly known as the “Matterhorn of the Caucasus” because of its gorgeous double-summit and is definitely worth exploring.**

The 8-day trek will take you to climb the north summit. You will scale on an interesting combination of ice, rock and fresh snow. No wonder it is a dream summit for all climbers!

We’ll begin the journey in Mestia. The following days will take us through various camps and all along, we’ll be rewarded by stunning views of neighboring peaks.

The north summit of Ushba is a 4B grade on the European scale, so make sure you have previous climbing experience. Also, we’ll be ascending in a higher altitude region, so it is a must to have a fit body to sign up.

We’ll climb the summit of the fifth day and what a feeling it would be! You’ll be stunned by the jaw-dropping views of the south summit and the spectacular alpine terrain. Then, after relishing our time, we’ll begin our descent and after a day of rest, end the journey in the beautiful village of village Mazeri.

Climbing North Ushba in 8 days, in the Caucasus Mountains

**Join me on this amazing ski-tour where we’ll ski from village to village in the picturesque region of  Svaneti in Georgia. For 10 days, you’ll visit many historic villages, in a breathtaking setting, surrounded by towering snow-capped peaks.**

The snow condition in the region is great and it will be interesting to ski and walk on powder snow. You’ll get to visit many unique places and carry back numerous unforgettable memories.

We’ll begin the journey by meeting you at the airport of Tbilisi, Kutaisi or Batumi and transfer you to the scenic village of Eceri. From there begins our ski tour.

The rest of the days will be spent skiing through various beautiful villages like Mazeri, Hadish, Ushguli and Tskhumariin. The trip also includes a visit to the city of Mestia and for most nights, we’ll be staying in cozy mountain huts with basic amenities.

The trip offers an excellent opportunity to practice your skiing skills in breathtaking alpine terrain. Regarding difficulty, this is a medium level tour which requires you to have a fit body. The snow condition is excellent for both newbies and seasoned skiers, so the trip is open for almost everyone.

A Tetnuldi ascent is likely to stay among your favorite mountaineering memories forever. The Queen of the Caucasus, as Mount Tetnuldi is also known, is both regal and a lovely challenge for those that like remote mountain climbing in awe-inspiring locations.

The trailhead is located a 45-minute drive away from Mestia, a lovely town in Upper Svaneti. Although at 4,858m a Tetnuldi ascent is not so challenging in terms of altitude as the more popular Kazbek, this queen will definitely make you work for the summit. Ice-climbing and exposed ridges will be part of the climb, and the remote wilderness all to yourself will be part of the reward.

Of course, due to the technical requirements of a Tetnuldi ascent, some prior mountaineering is a must. A good fitness level is also necessary to climb this mountain. But, rest assured, I will be there to guide you every step of the way and make sure you are safe.
