Get ready for an unbeatable introduction to winter climbing, when you come climb with us near Fort William, Scotland!

Over the course of one or several, we will get you acquainted with the basics of winter climbing and avalanche safety. The week will culminate in a climbing adventure of your choice!

We are extremely flexible with these programs, so let us know what works best for you. We can decide on the number of days depending on your travel plans.

Just to give you an example, here is a 5-day itinerary. Like I said before, we can always modify this according to your preferences and availability:

**Day 1** – We will spend the first day introducing you to techniques and teaching you the necessary skills. We will then head out to any of  Stob Coire nan Lochain in Glencoe, the north face of Ben Nevis and Sgorr Dearg, above Ballachulish in order to practice what we have learned. In the afternoon, we go on to the day’s main attraction and climb one of NC Gully, Ledge Route, Schoolhouse Ridge or West Gully DG Boulder.

**Day 2-3** – The second and third days will be spent practicing our newly acquired skills some more and learning a few additional ones too. We will then head out and do a few introductory climbs in Curved Ridge, Aonach Eagach, East Ridge of Stob Ban and Golden Oldie.

**Day 4** – On the fourth day, we head out to practice some steeper ice climbing skills. We’ll put these to the test on Onich Slabs and Ballachulish Bridge for dry tooling and Glen Nevis for teaching climbing and learning about introductory climbing rope work.

**Day 5** – On the final day of the trip we will take everything that we have learned and apply it in one final day of climbing. Heading out to one or more of Good Friday Climb, Left Twin, Twisting Gully and Castle Ridge, among others, we’ll make a glorious ascent before parting ways in the evening.

Come to Scotland’s stunningly beautiful Isle of Skye and take on the Inaccessible Pinnacle on Cuillin Ridge!

The 12 munros (mountains) of Cuillin Ridge are the toughest peaks to climb in all of the UK and on our 1-day ascent we will head up, perhaps, the most challenging one of all.

Inaccessible Pinnacle is the most iconic of these munros on Cuillin Ridge rising to 986 meters above sea level.

After meeting up first thing in the morning, we will make our approach to the base of the pinnacle, generally by scrambling along the West Ridge of Sgùrr Dearg, via a steep hike up Coire na Banachdich or a rock climbing approach from Coire Lagan.

Once we have arrived at the base of the pinnacle, we will climb up its east ridge, which allows us plenty of spots to stop and regroup in order to stay together as we climb.

After we’ve made it to the summit, we will take some time to enjoy the views (weather permitting) before making a steep but straightforward abseiling descent back down to the base.

Once we’re back down, the instructor will determine if there is enough time to perhaps tackle another nearby munro, such as Sgùrr na Banachdaich or Sgùrr MhicChoinnich. Otherwise, we will hike back down to the cars and head out.

This 3-day sample itinerary is just an example of how things could go. We will begin on day one with a discussion of our plan for the course of your trip with us before heading out to some  typical crags for excellent grade IV+ winter routes.

Among our options will be climbing at Stob Coire nan Lochain and Buachaille Etive Mor in Glencoe and the North Face of Ben Nevis. All of which offer great views and present a worthy challenge.

Later in the afternoon, we will hike out into the Highlands wilderness and make our way to the day's main attraction, climbing any of Tower Ridge, Castle Ridge, Scabbard Chimney and/or North Buttress, among other locations.

On the second day, we head out for more climbing! We will hike out to make our approach and enjoy a challenging climb up any of North East Buttress, Green Gully and/or Crest Route, among others.

On the final day, we head out for the highlight of the trip. Putting our newly acquired skills to the test, we will head out for an ambitious climb of any of  Point Five Gully, Orion Face Direct, The Pumpkin, Gargoyle Wall and/or West Chimney, among many others.

By the time we are done, you will have a solid performance winter climbing foundation upon which to build on future expeditions.

Join me on this long and at times arduous trek through one of the most famous regions on earth, and I promise **it will be one of, if not the most memorable experiences of your life**, as during 45 days we guide you over a distance of 1700km through unique and mind-blowing landscape, terrain and scenery, all at a high altitude (including three 6000m+ passes) on the Great Himalaya Trail from Kanchenjunga to Makalu Base Camp.

The Great Himalaya Trail stretches all the way from the Eastern border to the Western border of the Nepalese Himalaya, and is home to a variety of rare and protected animal species such as the **snow leopard, Asian black bear and blood pheasant.**

The first two days will be spent flying to Kathmandu and then driving to Taplejung, where the Kanchenjunga section of the trek begins. The subsequent 20 days will be spent first trekking to the **Kanchenjunga Base Camp (5143m)** before heading to Thudam via the Lumbha Sambha Pass.

The second half of the trek entails the Makalu Barun section, a much trickier proposition that involves technical mountaineering, Sherpa guides and experiences porters. This section heads to the **Makalu Base Camp (4870m)**, before the final 8 days of this monumental journey are spent heading back to Kathmandu.

Amongst the tiredness and arduous nature of the trek, the scenery which we will be trekking through is endlessly fascinating and stunning, with **gorgeous alpine meadows and huge granite rock walls littering the landscape**, and the fact that so few people dare venture where we will be going ensures it remains pristine, wild and natural.

It is a physically and mentally demanding trek which we are undertaking, but that does not take away from the fact that **we will endeavor to make the journey as fun as possible** and to ensure your memories will last a lifetime.

We finish on the final day back in Kathmandu, exhausted and happy in the knowledge we have dared to tread where few people do.
