Description

Join me to explore the breathtaking Apuseni Mountains. Located in the Carpathian mountain range in Romania, this beautiful place has thousands of possibilities for a day or two of fun.

The Apuseni Mountains offer unique hiking routes with stunning views of the Carpathians. These routes are gentle, not very steep and full of groves, forests, hamlets, ridges, defiles and gorges. Some of the options for hiking include: Trascau Mountains, Bihor, Muntele Mare, and the Vladeasa massif. Depending on which trail we choose, we’ll go through Natural Reserves or charming mountain villages.

You can choose whether to hike for a day or two. If you decide the latter, we’ll spend the night in tents and enjoy a mountain campfire. Furthermore, you’ll discover all the wonderful sounds and particularities of the wilderness at night. Either way, this is an easy trip, with 6-8 hiking hours each day, ideal for an adventure out with friends or family.

So book your place now and join me on this wonderful adventure in the Romanian mountains. This is a trip you’ll never forget and I would love to be your guide.

Mountain Guide

I’m an IFMGA mountain guide, a geographer and a passionate alpinist and climber.

I started going in the mountains as a child, at first very close to my home, in the Romanian Carpathians. In these mountains I discovered the passion for outdoor activities and climbing. It was not long until I started discovering other mountains and their challenges and I began building a "mountain climbing lifestyle".

I went in different expeditions around the world and I am always looking for interesting challenges in far away mountain ranges. As often as possible I spend my time in the Alps, training, climbing and enjoying life.

I became a national mountain guide in Romania in 2011. Since then, I love sharing my passion for the mountains and I enjoy taking clients to incredible places. I'm also a volunteer in educational activities to promote the values of authentic alpinism.

I believe in self development and always getting better at what I do, so in 2015 I joined the IFMGA mountain guide training program at EEMGA (East European Mountain Guides Association) and became a fully certified IFMGA mountain guide in 2018.

It will be my pleasure to guide you in any adventure in the mountains.

Great guide - mihnea was fun, placed a strong emphasis on safety, and also gave us advice on how to improve our climbing and alpinism!

En flott tur i fin natur. Vi fikk vite mye om isbreens tilstand og vi fikk prøvd både isklatring og via Ferrata. Guiden snakket flytende engels så det var lett å kommunisere. En behagelig og artig tur med litt utfordringer.

I spent 3 very exciting days at Balea Lake having very good snow and weather conditions. Accomodation at Paltinu Hotel was good and evenings passed quickly meeting all different type of mountain people :-). Skitours started from Paltinu Hotel (2034m) up to different mountain saddles (ca. 2300m) on skis. Going further to summits was possible but quite challenging as we had to climb in 1m of fresh snow carrying skis on the backpack. Nevertheless we had a lot of fun and Mihnea guided in all situations safely.
