Adjust the trip according to your plans and your level of experience
What to expect
I’ll pick you up from your hotel in Kranjska Gora, Bled or Ljubljana. Then, we’ll drive for an hour through the Julian Alps to the alpine walls. You’ll be able to take in the spectacular scenery around you, and we’ll go through the basics of ice climbing. We’ll also talk a bit about your experience. Then, based on that I’ll choose the best spot for you.
When we arrive at our destination we’ll get geared up ready to climb. That’s where the real fun begins! From January through March the conditions are perfect for ice climbing. Our climbs are 100% alpine, so you get the ultimate winter experience. We normally do climbs that are between two to six pitches long. I can adjust for all levels and make it easier or harder according to how you’re feeling.
When we’re done climbing, I recommend stopping for some traditional food. That will complete your Slovenian alpine experience. I’ll then drop you back at your hotel.
Customise your trip
You can adapt this trip to make it either half a day, a full day or multiple days. If you choose multiple days, we’ll also be able to explore the Kamnik-Savinja Alps and the Karawanks.
So what are you waiting for? Sign up now and come and join me for an epic mountain experience.
If you also want to have some fun practicing rock climbing, join me in Ljubljana for a half-day indoor climbing session.
For this trip you'll need winter clothing (waterproof jacket, warm pants, warm gloves, and a cap). Winter mountain boots are mandatory. You will also need a pair of climbing crampons and ice tools. This can all be rented at an additional cost.
Pick up from your hotel in Kranjska, Gora, Bled or Ljubljana.
Climbing, that is me. Doing rock climbing since I was 10, from hard sport climbs to free alpine ascent of Trango Tower.
Now enjoying easier ridges with best views. The sound of nature, the smell of winter, screeams of joy. Lots of fun I found climbing with my son and wife, and friends.
I have more than 20 years of experience with guiding groups and familys. I understand safety, open spaces, mountain joy and good food are key factors. Come for a unforgetable joyride.
