Cortina d’Ampezzo is a mountain town in the heart of the Dolomites, in the Italian region of Veneto. Besides being home to a popular winter sports resort, it is a perfect destination for via ferrata outings. Equipped with metal stepladders and wires which make the progression easier, these routes offer the chance to experience the big walls of the Dolomites without being an expert.
On this trip, I will take you to one of the stunning via ferratas of the area. We will refresh the special skills of this type of climbing and enjoy an unforgettable adventure. These protected mountain routes run through a rocky terrain offering breathtaking views!
This tour is suitable for anyone with a good fitness condition that doesn’t suffer heights. Furthermore, keep in mind that we will choose a route according to your level. It is also a great opportunity to improve your safety and verticality skills.

FAQs
Do I need previous via ferrata or climbing experience?
No. Previous via ferrata or climbing experience is not required for the easier/moderate group tours. However, you should be in good physical condition and comfortable with heights.
What equipment is provided?
Via ferrata safety equipment (helmet, harness and lanyard) is available to rent directly from the guide for €20 per person. You need to bring your own suitable footwear and clothing.
What shoes should I wear?
You should wear proper hiking, trekking or approach shoes with a good grip and a sole suitable for rocky terrain. Sneakers and running shoes are not suitable. Rock climbing shoes are not necessary.
What should I bring with me?
Bring a small backpack with a wind/rain jacket, a warm layer such as a fleece, sunglasses, at least 1 litre of water and some snacks. Light gloves with a rubber or leather palm, such as via ferrata or cycling gloves, are also recommended.
How long does the activity take?
The activity generally takes around 4–5 hours, depending on the selected route, conditions and the group.
Where and when do we meet?
Group tours generally start at around 9:00 AM. The meeting point is usually around Passo Falzarego, approximately 15-20 minutes by car from Cortina d'Ampezzo. The exact meeting point may vary depending on the route and will be confirmed before the activity.
Which via ferrata will we do?
The exact route is selected according to the participants' experience and ability, as well as the conditions. Group tours generally take place on easy to moderate via ferratas around Cortina.
What is the difference between a group and a private tour?
Group tours generally follow an easy to moderate route suitable for the participants' level. A private tour offers more flexibility to choose the route and difficulty according to your experience, abilities and objectives.

Mountain Guide
I was still a child when my passion for high altitude began and grew with me. I was born in Trieste, Italy. Still young, I was carried by my parents, passionate trekkers, onto the mountains.
In the following years, I did all the activities one can do on mountains; from rock climbing to classic rock routes, to high altitude, to ice falls, to ski-touring, to free-riding, to spending every period of my free time wearing climbing shoes, ski-boots or crampons; the different equipment depended on the season I was in.
This passion for open spaces drove me and helped me make solid and long experiences in every kind of mountain activity there is. I graduated in Sports Science in order to pave the way to becoming an Alpine Guide.
Passion for outdoor life; independent of which activity you are doing—this is what I promote. Climbing, skiing, mountaineering, these activities are not a gym where we show off to others. They are reason to travel and explore new places that don’t belong in our ordinary, everyday life. They are a way to live as true adventurers. During any mountain trip, I take in the beauty of nature and enjoy relaxing in it.
