Would you like to join one of the top Himalaya treks? Then come with us on this classic 14-day Everest Base Camp (EBC) trek starting from Kathmandu!

The Everest Base Camp (EBC) trek is the mother of all trekking in Nepal. Over the course of 14 days, you will have the chance to discover the amazing Himalayan mountains that belong to the Everest Range, as well as the Sherpa culture of the Khumbu region. Along the way, we will stop at the bustling Namche Bazaar, Tengboche-renowned for its monasteries-, and the stunning EBC at the foothill of the towering Everest. You can find a detailed itinerary of the program below.

Please keep in mind that this program is open to everyone. However, the EBC trek should not be underestimated as it will require us to trek for long hours every day. Therefore, a good fitness level is a must. Of course, we will be there every step of the way to help and guide you!

Price does not include:

• Nepal entry visa fee (you may easily issue the visa upon your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport - Kathmandu). You will require 2 passport size photos.

• Your Travel insurance.

• Lunch and dinner while you are in Kathmandu.

• All the alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

• Sweet things like chocolate.

• Hot shower during the trekking.

• Tipping (expected by guides and porters, but not mandatory).


Itinerary

Day 1: Kathmandu (1320m)

Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). Upon arrival at the airport, you will be received by our representative and then transferred to the hotel. Overnight at 3-star hotel (Thamel Eco Resort or skyline Hotel).

Day 2: Kathmandu to Lukla (2886m) and then to Phakding (2640m.)

We will fly early from Kathmandu to Lukla (2886m.). Upon arrival at Lukla, we will be refreshed in one of the hotels and then start our trek to Phakding (2640 m.). We will follow a gentle climb up the mountainside on the left bank of the Dudh Koshi. Nupla (5885m) can be seen at a stone-throwing distance on the opposite bank. In the late afternoon, we will reach Phakding. Overnight at tea house lodge.

Day 3: Phakding to Namche Bazar (3440m.)

After breakfast at Phakding, we commence our trek to Namche Bazaar (3440 m.).The trail goes along the right bank of Dudh Koshi. Thamserku is standing majestically skyward on the opposite bank. We then reach Bengar. The trail now climbs from the riverbed on the left bank into the mountain, through a forest to Chumoa. We continue along the trail with many ups and downs; cross a stream, and pass by the tiny village Monjo. We then come to Sagarmatha National Park Service where a park entrance fee is to be deposited. We follow a short walk along the riverbed of this V-shaped valley where the river forks: Dudh Koshi to the right, Bhote Koshi to the left. Now we begin the steep ascent to Namche Bazar. On the way, we have excellent views of Everest (8848m) and Lhotse (8516m). Surrounded on three sides by mountain ranges, Namche Bazar (3440m) is a central hub of the area for food, trekking gear, and other necessary goods. Overnight at tea house lodge.

Day 4: Namche Bazaar (3440 m) acclimatization.

Namche Bazaar is an ideal place for acclimatization to the high altitude before heading towards Tyangboche. We will go up to the Khhumjung monastery. It is a small settlement of the Sherpa community. We will enjoy the splendid view of Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Nuptse, Lhotse, Tawche, Kwangde and so on from there. While returning to Namche, we will visit a Sherpa culture museum just above the town. Overnight at tea house lodge.

Day 5: Namche Bazaar to Tyangboche (3867m)

After breakfast at Namche Bazaar, we will head towards Tyangboche (3867 m). In this section too, we will have a panoramic view of the Himalayas such as Ama Dablam (6812m), Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse (7855m) and Tawoche (6501m). We will visit Trashinga, Phunki Tenga and reach Tyangboche. Tyangboche offers a good view of the sunrise and sunset at Everest and Ama Dablam. Overnight at tea house lodge.

Day 6: Tyangboche to Dingboche (4260 m)

Leaving Tyangboche at the back, we will descend through a rhododendron forest and enter Deboche. Crossing a suspension bridge at Imja Khola, we will head towards Minlinggo and enter Imjatse Valley beneath the mighty peaks of Ama Dablam, Nuptse and Lhotse. We will finally arrive at Dingboche. Overnight at tea house lodge.

Day 7: Acclimatization at Dingboche (4260 m)

We will acclimatize at Dingboche (4260 m) to be familiar with the local climate. Having breakfast at the teahouse, we will go around the village and in the afternoon, we will even hike up to Chhukum. It also provides a majestic view of Island peak, Ama Dablam, Makalu, Tawoche peak and others. In the late afternoon, we will come back to Dingboche and rest. Overnight at tea house lodge.

Day 8: Dingboche to Lobuche (4930 m)

It is our turn to head towards Lobuche from Dingboche which is situated at a distance of five and a half hours normal walk. The onward trail is gentle up to Pheriche village. Along the trail, we catch panoramic views of the Mt.Tawache, Ama Dablam, Pokalde (5741m), Kongma-Tse (5820m) and the great wall of Nuptse. We will have lunch at Dugla (4595m) and trek to Lobuche. Overnight at tea house lodge.

Day 9: Lobuche to EBC Everest Base Camp (5364m)

After breakfast at Lobuche, we will trek to Everest Base Camp via Gorakshep (5140m.). It is the most rewarding section of the trek. Our trail winds up through rocky path and Khumbu glacier. The view of Nuptse, Lho-La, and Khumbutse appear at a stone-throwing distance. We will visit Everest Base Camp and come back to Gorakshep. Overnight at tea house lodge.

Day 10: Gorakshep to Kala Patthar (5545m) and then to Pheriche (4243m.)

We will trek from Gorakshep to Kala Patthar (5545m.) and trek to Pheriche (4243m.). Early morning, we will get ready to climb Kala Patthar (5545m.) and enjoy the view of the sunrise. We will see Mt. Everest, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Lingtren, Mt. Khumbetse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku and many more from Kala Patthar. Himalayan Rescue Association Aid Post is available at Pheriche. Foreign volunteer doctors are there to provide medical treatment. Overnight at tea house lodge.

Day 11: Pheriche to Namche Bazaar (3440 m)

We will trek from Tyangboche to Namche Bazaar (3440 m ). It takes about four and a half hours to reach Namche Bazaar from Tyangboche. En route, we will visit traditional villages like Khumjung and Khunde. We will be visiting a monastery that has a Yeti Scalp. Finally, we will come to Namche Bazaar in the late afternoon. Overnight at tea house lodge.

Day 12: Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2886 m)

After breakfast in the teahouse at Namche Bazaar, we will trek to Lukla. Lunch will be served on the way. Upon arrival at Lukla, we will get refreshed and rest. Overnight at tea house lodge.

Day 13: Lukla to Kathmandu

We will board our early flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. Upon arrival at TIA, we will be received by our representatives and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, we will go shopping. Farewell dinner will be served in Bhojan Griha, a typical Nepali restaurant. Overnight at a 3-star hotel (Thamel Eco Resort or skyline Hotel).

Day 14: Transfer to International Airport for your final departure.

After breakfast at hotel free time for shopping or rest until your departure time. Then we will drop you off at the airport by private vehicle.

We hebben echt genoten van onze trekking naar ABC. Jammer genoeg waren er echter overal problemen met de kamer. We hebben dan expres via een agency geboekt en meer betaald, zodat we zeker een kamer overal zouden krijgen. Dit bleek dan een probleem te zijn, omdat er niets op voorhand was geboekt. Ook hebben we last minute (letterlijk 5 min voor de 1e ontmoeting) een bericht van Hari gekregen dat we een andere guide zouden krijgen. Hierbij kregen we geen uitleg. De nieuwe guide had geen EHBO kit mee en wist ook helemaal niet wat allemaal inbegrepen was in onze boeking. Dit was opzich geen probleem, maar het leek plots allemaal niet meer zo goed georganiseerd als het beloofde te zijn. Ondanks dit hebben we echt wel genoten van onze tocht en zijn we blij dat we het gedaan hebben.
