The Mt. Everest Base Camp trek is a classic in the Himalayas. This stunning spot at the base of the highest mountain in the world is located at an altitude of 5364 m (17,598 ft) and is a common stop for mountaineers climbing the southeast ridge of the mountain. Of course, climbing to the summit of Everest is not for everyone, however, that does not mean you cannot enjoy this Himalaya wonder if you are not an advanced mountaineer.

On this trek, we will start of from Kathmandu and fly to Lukla, from where we will begin hiking to Phakding. Over the course of the following days, we will stop at emblematic spots in the Everest region such as Namche Bazaar,  and the Khumbu Glacier. We will also discover the stunning Sherpa culture, and catch sight of amazing peaks including Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m), Mt. Makalu (8,463 m), Mt. Cho Oyu (8,201 m), and many others. After reaching the EBC, we will climb to  Kala Patthar (5,550m), to enjoy stunning views of the emblematic mountain.

Please keep in mind that this program is open to trekkers of all levels. However, it is a demanding trek that will require adequate physical preparation. Of course, we will be there to help and guide you every step of the way.

Day 1: Kathmandu to Lukla flight then Trek to Phakding. (Altitude: 2800m)

Day 2: Trek from Phakding - Namche Bazaar. (Altitude: 3440m)

Day 3: Namche Bazaar - Acclimatization day. (Altitude: 3800m)

Day 4: Trekking- Namche Bazaar to Tyangboche. (Altitude: 3800m)

Day 5: Trek- Tyangboche to Dingboche. (Altitude: 4260m.)

Day 6: Acclimatization at Dingboche (4260 m.)

Day 7: Dingboche to Lobuche. (Altitude: 4930m.)

Day 8: Lobuche to Everest Base Camp then return to Gorakshep. (Altitude: 5300m.)

Day 9: Gorakshep to Kala Patthar and Pheriche. (Altitude: 5545m.)

Day 10: Pheriche to Namche Bazaar. (Altitude: 3440m)

Day 11: Namche Bazaar to Lukla

Thanks to my guide Tanka and porter Chhabi for an awesome trip to the Himalayas! All throughout the trip they ensured that I had everything that I needed and checked in on my comfort level all throughout. The guide took time every day to explain plans for the next day, to take pictures and to point out landmarks. The views of Annapurna I and Machhapuchhare are gorgeous from the Mardi Himal base camp (more so than Mardi Himal itself). Note that you enjoy flexibility during the trip. The camps that you stay at each night are only suggestions - we adjusted from the described plan to time the weather so we could get the best views, and to get off the trail early on Day 5. Much of the trail is improved with steps or stone walkways and it is a popular trail where you will meet other hiking groups. We had an amazing Mardi Himal trek. We booked last minute and we were dealt with promptly and professionally. We hebben echt genoten van onze trekking naar ABC. Jammer genoeg waren er echter overal problemen met de kamer. We hebben dan expres via een agency geboekt en meer betaald, zodat we zeker een kamer overal zouden krijgen. Dit bleek dan een probleem te zijn, omdat er niets op voorhand was geboekt. Ook hebben we last minute (letterlijk 5 min voor de 1e ontmoeting) een bericht van Hari gekregen dat we een andere guide zouden krijgen. Hierbij kregen we geen uitleg. De nieuwe guide had geen EHBO kit mee en wist ook helemaal niet wat allemaal inbegrepen was in onze boeking. Dit was opzich geen probleem, maar het leek plots allemaal niet meer zo goed georganiseerd als het beloofde te zijn. Ondanks dit hebben we echt wel genoten van onze tocht en zijn we blij dat we het gedaan hebben.
