Located in the north of Kathmandu Valley on the border of Tibet and Nepal, this ‘valley of glaciers’ is a visual delight. From towering peaks to pristine lakes to glaciers, Langtang has it all.

The trek has so much to offer. From impressive views of  Gyangchempo and Langtang Lirung, the highest peak of Langtang Himal to hiking through the scenic Helambu Valley with its crystal clear Gosainkunda lake, to seeing beautiful monasteries, the trip will take care of everything.

You’ll also get to traverse the vast meadows of Langtang National Park, which is home to many rare plants and animals. Here, you are most likely to spot majestic animals like the snow leopards, black bears, and wild thars and if you are lucky, you might as well see the adorable red pandas.

Our journey will begin and end in the capital city of Kathmandu. From there, we’ll head towards Syabrubesi and walk through beautiful pinewood forest along gushing streams, and snow-white peaks until we get to Kyanjin Gompa, a spectacular location indeed!

From there you can either hike to Kyanjin RI or spend your day relaxing.

The trail offers spectacular views of Langtang RI, Ganesh Himal and Lang Sisa. You’ll also get to explore the Tibetan settlements of Langtang region to learn about the lifestyle and culture of the Tibetan people. Or you can even choose to trek to Chorkor RI to see some more exceptional views.

Regarding difficulty, it is a moderate level trek, which requires you to be in good shape. And given its unique location, it sure is popular among both beginners and seasoned hikers.

Day 2: Drive to Syabru Bensi (1462m/4795ft) by jeep, Duration: 7 hrs

Day 3: Trek to Lama Hotel (2500m/8200ft), Duration: 5 hrs

Day 4: Trek to Langtang Village (3307m/10845ft), Duration: 5 hrs

Day 5: Langtang village to Kyanjing Ri (4773m/15655ft) and back to Kyanjing Gompa (3798m/12495ft), Duration: 7-8 hrs

Day 6: Kyangjuma Gompa Exploration and climb Chorkari Ri (5050m/16564ft), Duration: 7 hrs

Day 7: Kyanjin Gompa- Lama Hotel (2500m/8200ft), Duration: 5-6 hrs

Day 8: Lama Hotel to Syabru Bensi (1462m/4795ft), Duration: 5-6 hrs

Day 9: Syabru Bensi to Kathmandu
