At 8,848 m (29,029 ft), Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world. Reaching the summit of this towering peak is a daunting challenge for experienced mountaineers. However, the Everest Base Camp trek is a great alternative for those with less experience and training to discover this mountain’s unique charm.

In this program, we will trek to the Everest Base Camp and also enjoy special yoga sessions along the way that will make the trekking easier and also help us to connect with the mountain on a deeper level. We will enjoy both energetic and soothing yoga sessions and put a focus on health and meditation as we go up this beautiful and inspiring mountain. Furthermore, we will have the chance to experience the Nepali mountain life and culture, as well as the vibrant Himalayan wilderness. You can find a detailed program below.

Every day we will trek for an average of 5-6 hours. Therefore, it is important that you have a good fitness level. However, you do not need professional mountaineering skills to join this program. Of course, we will be there to help and guide you every step of the way.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Kathmandu (1320m)

Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). Upon arrival at the airport, you will be received by our representative and then transferred to the hotel. Overnight at 3-star hotel (Thamel Eco Resort or Skyline Hotel).

Day 2: Kathmandu to Lukla (2886m)

Take an early flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2886m.). Upon arrival at Lukla, we will rest in one of the hotels and then start our trek to Phakding (2640 m.). We will follow a gentle climb up the mountainside on the left bank of the Dudh Koshi. Nupla (5885m) can be seen at a stone-throwing distance on the opposite bank. In the late afternoon, we will reach Phakding. Overnight at tea house lodge.

Day 3: Phakding to Namche Bazzar (3440m)

Having breakfast at Phakding, Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440 m.).The trail goes along the right bank of Dudh Koshi. Thamserku is standing majestically skyward on the opposite bank. We then reach Bengar. The trail now climbs from the riverbed on the left bank into the mountain, through a forest to Chumoa. We continue along the trail with many ups and downs; cross a stream, and pass by the tiny village Monjo. We then come to Sagarmatha National Park Service where a park entrance fee is to be deposited. We will follow a short walk along the riverbed of this V-shaped valley where the river forks Dudh Koshi to the right Bhote Koshi to the left. Now we will begin a steep ascent to Namche Bazar. On the way, we will have excellent views of Everest (8848m) and Lhotse (8516m). Surrounded on three sides by mountain ranges, Namche Bazar (3440m) is a central hub of the area for food, trekking gears, and other necessary goods. Overnight at tea house lodge.

Day 4: Acclimatization at Namche Bazzar

Take rest at Namche Bazaar (3440 m.) for acclimatization. It is considered an ideal place for acclimatization to high altitudes before heading towards Tyangboche. We will go up to the Khumjung monastery. It is a small settlement of a Sherpa community. We enjoy the splendid view of Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Nuptse, Lhotse, Tawche, Kwangde and so on from here. While returning to Namche, we will visit the Museum just above the town that exhibits Sherpa culture. Overnight at tea house lodge.

Day 5: Namche Bazaar to Tyangboche (3867m)

After breakfast at Namche Bazaar, we will head towards Tyangboche (3867 m.). The trail goes ahead leaving a steep cliff that drops down to the Dudh Kosi. In this section too, we will enjoy panoramic views of the Himalayas such as Ama Dablam (6812m), Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse (7855m) and Tawoche (6501m). We will visit Trashinga, Phunki Tenga and reach Tyangboche. Tyangboche offers a good view of sunrise and sunset at Everest and Ama Dablam. Overnight at tea house lodge.

Day 6: Tyangboche to Dingboche (4260 m)

Trek from Tyangboche to Dingboche (4260 m). Leaving Tyangboche, we will descend through a rhododendron forest and enter Deboche. Crossing a suspension bridge at Imja Khola, we will head towards Minlinggo and inter Imjatse Valley beneath the mighty peaks of Ama Dablam, Nuptse, and Lhotse. We will finally come to Dingboche. Overnight at a tea house lodge.

Day 7: Acclimatization at Dingboche (4260 m)

We will spend the day acclimatizing in Dingboche (4260 m.) to become familiar with the local climate. We will have breakfast at the teahouse, then we will go around the village and in the afternoon, we will even hike up to Chhukum. We will also catch majestic views of Island peak, Ama Dablam, Makalu, Tawoche peak and others. In the late afternoon, we will come back to Dingboche and rest. Overnight at tea house lodge.

Day 8: Dingboche to Lobuche (4930 m)

It is our turn to head towards Lobuche from Dingboche which is situated at a distance of five and a half hours walking. The onward trail is gentle up to Pheriche village. Along the trail, we will be privileged to catch panoramic views of the Mt.Tawache, Ama Dablam, Pokalde (5741m), Kongma-Tse (5820m) and the great wall of Nuptse. We will have lunch at Dugla (4595m) and trek to Lobuche. Overnight at tea house lodge.

Day 9: Lobuche to Everest Base Camp (5364m)

After breakfast at Lobuche, we will trek to Everest Base Camp via Gorakshep (5140m.). It is the most rewarding section of the trek. Our trail winds up through a rocky path to Khumbu glacier. The view of Nuptse, Lho-La, and Khumbutse appear at a stone-throwing distance. We will visit Everest Base Camp and return to Gorakshep. Overnight at tea house lodge.

Day 10: Gorakshep to Kala Patthar (5545m)and then to Pheriche (4243m.)

Trek from Gorakshep to Kala Patthar (5545m.) and trek to Pheriche (4243m.). Early in the morning, we will get ready to climb Kala Patthar (5545m.) and enjoy the sunrise. We will see Mt. Everest, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Lingtren, Mt. Khumbetse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku and many more from Kala Patthar. Himalayan Rescue Association Aid Post is available at Pheriche. Foreign volunteer doctors are there to provide medical treatment. Overnight at tea house lodge.

Day 11: Pheriche to Tyangboche (3867 m) Trek from Pheriche to Tyangboche (3867 m)

We will visit the research center and trek to Tyangboche. En route, we can enjoy descending through a rhododendron forest. Tyangboche is famous for the oldest monastery. From the monastery, we can enjoy the splendid view of Ama Dablam, green hills and river. Overnight at tea house lodge.

Day 12: Tyangboche to Namche Bazaar (3440 m)

We will trek from Tyangboche to Namche Bazaar (3440 m ). It takes about four and a half hours to reach Namche Bazaar from Tyangboche. En route, we will visit traditional villages like Khumjung and Khunde. We will also visit a monastery that has Yeti Scalp. Finally, we will come to Namche Bazaar in the late afternoon. Overnight at tea house lodge.

Day 13: Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2886 m)

After breakfast in the teahouse at Namche Bazaar, we will trek to Lukla. It is the last day of our trek. Lunch will be served on the way. Upon arrival at Lukla, we will rest. Overnight at tea house lodge.

Day 14: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu

We will board an early flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. Upon arrival at TIA, we will be received by our representatives and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, we will go shopping. Farewell dinner will be served in Bhojan Griha, a typical Nepali restaurant. Overnight at 3-star hotel (Thamel Eco Resort or Skyline Hotel).

Day 15: Departure day

After breakfast, we will enjoy some free time for last-minute shopping or rest and then head to the airport by private vehicle for final departure.
