Join me for this experience of a lifetime as we spend 15-days trekking through the sublime wilderness of the Cordillera Huayhuash in Peru!
Once we complete the trek, we will also spend some time exploring the ancient Incan capital of Cusco and finish the trip off with a spectacular sunrise and tour of Machu Picchu.
However, we begin with an immersive hiking experience deep in the Peruvian wilderness. For for 10-day duration of our initial trek, we will hike over passes and descend into valleys, enjoying spectacular views of snow-capped peaks and turquoise-blue lakes.
Along the way, we may also spy some of Peru’s most iconic wildlife, including the endangered Andes Condor.
We will also spend two days hiking to the Base Camp of Siula Grande, which was made famous by Joe Simpson’s book-turned-film, “touching the void”.
We will be out in the remote wilderness of Peru, leaving you plenty of time to enjoy the rugged solitude as we ascend each of the eight mountain passes of the trek and descend back into each valley.
Once the trek is over, we head back to Cusco for a tour before finishing our trip with a visit to the iconic UNESCO world heritage site that is Machu Picchu.
So what are you waiting for? Book now for this exhilarating 15-day trek through the Cordillera Huayhuash, culminating in a tour of the mysterious and majestic Machu Picchu!

I am a member of the British Association of Mountain Leaders and the owner of Mountain Energy, the guiding company I run with my wife, which has been in operation since 2009.
We started by offering summer and winter expeditions in the UK but then moved on to Europe and Africa in 2010. My work has taken me all over the world, including Peru, Bolivia, Lesotho, South Africa and Morocco.
Apart from holding an International Mountain Leader certification (IML), I am also certified as a Winter Mountain Leader. In 2008, I was awarded the Life Saving Medal of the Order of St. John after participating in a rescue expedition in the Pyrenees.
At Mountain Energy we offer a select number of programs that we have been guiding for years and know well. Join us for a truly unique experience!
