Grossglockner (3798 m) is a massive mountain dominating the Austrian Alps with its snowcapped peaks and wonderful surroundings. It is so amazing, that people from all over the world go there to witness its majestic scenery.
It is also a splitboarder paradise, specially because of its incredibly white and soft slopes to ascend and its seemingly endless extension, ideal for an exciting descend.
We will have two days to experience all this at its best: the first one, we will go straight up to the Erzherzog Johann Hut, at 3450 m. We will rest there and prepare ourselves for the following day.
In the morning, we will split our boards to ascend to the summit. We will be able to see perfectly shaped peaks covered in the whitest powder snow as a preview for the fast descend that will follow.
If you are physically fit and possess prior experience in splitboarding, join this program. It is an opportunity you cannot miss. You can book it right here, right now.
I can also guide you through other incredible places in Austria, such as the Wildspitze or the Sonnblick peak.

The maximum number of participants I can take with me on the rope will depend on the climbing level they have, but also on the conditions. Usually I will take max 3 persons with me. My top priority is for everybody to be safe! If you have a group larger than 3 people, I'll ask another IFMGA mountain guide to join us.

My guide ended up being a local snowboard guide named Peter. It was excellent. Lovely guy, we got to ride some powder as well as practice searching with the avalanche rescue equipment. All round good day. Would highly recommend

I would like to drop a note saying how amazing of a time I had climbing with Mathias. Coming from the United States all I asked was for a true Austrian Alps climbing experience. The first day we spent multi-pitch sport climbing up to grade UIAA 6+. Such and amazing day on bullet proof limestone. The second day I got to experience alpine climbing that started with a two hour hike up a hanging glaciated valley to one of the classic routes. I highly recommend arranging a climbing trip with Mathias. I will guarantee you will be exhausted at the end of each day with a huge smile on your face. It was truly an experience of a life time and next time I am in Austria I will be booking another adventure with this group.

Arielle (France)
