Description

Follow me to the beautiful mountains of Spain on this incredible ski touring adventure. During this two day course, we’ll enjoy the spectacular Sierra de Guadarrama and learn ski touring and mountain techniques.

Sierra de Guadarrama is a stunning mountain range in the community of Madrid. It is tremendously popular among hiking and climbing enthusiasts for its stunning views and its easy access from Madrid.

On this occasion, I’ll teach you ascent and descent techniques, and about equipment and its maintenance, planning a trip, complicated turns and how to use crampons and an ice axe. I’ll also teach you all about safety techniques including how to analyze the field and weather conditions, how to avoid and act in case of avalanches, how to use an arva, probe and shovel and how to prepare a first-aid kit.

This trip is ideal for people with some experience in alpine skiing that want to enter the world of ski touring. It is also a good option for mountaineers and climbers looking to gain new skills to access winter itineraries faster and more easily.

Fantastic winter ascent of Mulhacen together with guide Mariano Frutos in mid-January. Very warm and sunny day and extremely icy on the top but fantastic views all the way to the Moroccan Rif mountains. Few people on the mountain and a lot of Iberian mountain goats. Mariano was excellent and Pablo at Explore-Share made the logistics easy and straightforward as always.
