Description

Have you ever wanted to trek in Huascaran National Park? Then join me on this 3-day trek to Quilcayhuanca in the Peruvian Andes!

The Huascaran National Park is located near Huaraz in the center of Peru, and is home to the Quilcayhuanca trek. This trek captures so much of what is special about the Peruvian Andes; whether it be the expanse of flora and fauna, breathtaking mountains or bounty of condors, you will be in for a grand adventure!

We will begin our 3-day trek early in the morning in order to enjoy the best hiking conditions on the mountain. Upon arriving in Huascaran National Park, we will ascend about 1,000 meters on our first day in order to get to Tullpacocha (4,150 meters). En route, we will pass lakes, lagoons, mountains and all kinds of different nature, until we can eventually settle in and camp for the night. Then, the next day–day 2–we will again rise early to cross the Huapi Pass, at the top of which is a vista allowing us to see 10 of the famous surrounding mountains as well as distant views of the city of Huaraz. And on our final day, we will again rise early and enjoy a scrumptious breakfast before descending 1,000 meters in order to return to Huaraz.

We will hike about 6-7 hours per day, so we ask that everyone be in decent physical shape. More still, we will have porters with horses carrying many of the items we need to be comfortable, including communal camping gear and the cooking tent and equipment for our private chef.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
