If you are looking for a winter adventure, this trip is for you: let’s go for a 5-day splitboarding experience in Lesachtal, in the Austrian state of Carinthia!

Lesachtal is part of the western part of the Lesach Valley, one of the most unspoiled in Europe. Bordering the Lienz Dolomites and the Carnic Alps, it offers a huge terrain for winter sports.

During this 5-day splitboarding trip we will ascend through deep snow-covered valleys. After reaching some unique spots with excelent views, we will descend fabulous powder slopes and dense forests.

The safety equipment can be borrowed for a fee upon request. But please remember to bring your own splitboarding equipment, suitable clothes and a small backpack!

Itinerary

Day 1: Getting ready

Welcome meeting. Equipment check. Avalanche and snow conditions report. Tour planning for the next days.

Day 2 to 4: Splitboarding days

Day 5: Last day

After the last splitboarding day, we will enjoy a warming coffee at about 3pm in the lodge. End of the tour.

Mountain Guide

I’m a IFMGA certified mountain guide and a nature lover. I was born in 1983 and I studied Cultural and social anthropology at the Vienna University.

Mountains, water, cultures have been always my passion. That’s why I’m a mountain, ski, canyoning and rafting guide, also a ski instructor and a snowboard enthusiast.

Helene and myself are the owners of the Hepi lodge. A space for mountaineers, climbers, skiing enthusiasts where besides offering the accommodation service we proposed varied programmes of different activities: rock climbing, ski touring, canyoning, hiking tours.

I guide most of my time in Lesachtal Valley: St Lorenzen, St Jakob, Birnbaum, Karnische Alps and Lienz Dolomites.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge.
