Description
For a full week, I would like to guide you on a ski touring adventure in the stunning Kootenay region of British Columbia, Canada.
Enjoy a unique ski touring week in the Kootenays and refresh your avalanche rescue skills as you combine exhilarating exploration and runs during the day and classroom adventures when the day is done.
This 7-day adventure is the perfect getaway for enthusiastic skiers that want a full nature immersion and ski touring adventure. Furthermore, it includes an AST2 avalanche skills training course. The AST2 course will cover a lot of important topics. Those topics will prove helpful not only during this trip but in future skiing adventures you may have. The course will take place during the mornings and evenings. Thus giving you the afternoons to enjoy the slopes and spectacular terrain!
In order to participate in this trip, you should have prior ski touring experience. You should also be AST1 trained and be in good physical condition.

- 7 nights accommodation at Kokanee Lodge, 6 guided days with ACMG guides, 7 breakfasts, 7 Lunches, and 5 Dinner (No dinner on arrival day, one night we will eat out in Nelson).

Mountain Guide
Based in Canmore, Alberta, I am an IFMGA- and ACMG-certified mountain guide. I also serve in the Canadian Armed Forces and am a founding partner of the Outward Bound Veterans Program.
My mission is for you to learn the skills to be competent and independent in the backcountry. I will break down complex skill sets into individual building blocks for you to learn progressively and confidently. After learning the skills, you will get to practice them in the backcountry with my guidance or that of one of the ACMG-certified guides in my team.

In my experience, making the transition to outdoor climbing can be intimidating for a number of reasons. Admin was efficient for paying Communications were hit and miss. Took too long to answer questions about the day / route etc. We were beginners and the guide chose a route that was too challenging. One member of group dropped out the day before. The requested refund never even got a reply about. Let alone confirmation
