If you wish to ascend Mount Denali, in Alaska, the highest peak in North America, you definitely need adequate preparation. This 8-day preparation course in Mount Rainier, Washington, will give you everything you need in order to face the major challenge of Denali.
Mount Rainier is a famous volcano located 87 km to the southeast of Seattle (Washington). Rising to 4027 meters, it is the highest peak in the Cascade Range. This course is designed to train participants to climb Mount Denali and/or to learn winter mountaineering skills. During late winter -early spring, the conditions in Mt Rainier mimic those that you will find in Denali.
During this course, you will:
– Develop your survival skills in cold weather
– Learn and practice technical snow climbing skills
– Learn about proper acclimatization
In addition to joining this course, it is ideal to do one or two summit ascents prior to embarking in the adventure of climbing Denali.
