Come with Jerry, a mountain guide, to the snowy Northern Alps of Japan and take an 8-day backcountry skiing trip to Hakuba. Enjoy some of the biggest and steepest runs in all of Japan!
Take a ski touring trip to Hakuba in the Northern Alps of Japan and experience the thrill of long runs! From untouched powder and big, steep lines, this program promises to give you the backcountry vacation of a lifetime!
It is no secret that Hakuba is home to world class skiing and snowboarding. With pure snow, immense mountains, and a culture that caters to these natural delights, it is a prime location for snow adventurers seeking an experience that they will remember forever.
Inside the Nagano Prefecture on the island of Honshu, it has become a Mecca for snow enthusiasts who want an Olympic-caliber experience. It offers every type of run, and the snow quality is truly remarkable.
With my knowledge of the area, I can design a program that places you directly in the best spots every single day to make the most of your touring adventure. I can provide a safe and exciting trip that will feature relaxing evenings in a hand-selected lodge for the ultimate experience. There really is no other program like this anywhere out there.
We will travel throughout Hakuba Valley to ensure you ge the most out of every run, and every line. The backcountry snow is deep and plentiful, and it really is unique to Hakuba. Our access to backcountry areas as well as those from the resorts will give you free reign to appreciate every inch of powder. And this paradise will last more than a week!
This program has a lot of steep touring, so you should be in good shape and have a high level of fitness. Intermediate and advanced skiiers and riders will get the most out of this trip.
Book this program NOW and have a ski touring excursion in one of the world´s best locations for snow sports – Hakuba of Japan´s Northern Alps!
If you were interested in a nearby location, I can get us eight days ski touring in Myoko. Or we can combine both places and experience Nagano and Niigata in one eight-day trip!
You will be staying at Meteor in Echo Land Village.
Contact me for information regarding custom dates for this program.
We will meet in Hakuba. Contact me upon booking to coordinate our meeting location.
Transfer to Hakuba to where your guide will be waiting to greet you.
From there your guide will give you an introduction to the local area, make
sure you have everything you need and deliver you to your hotel for some
relaxation before your dream ski holiday begins.
Free ski day to get your ski legs back and make sure all your gear is
working well. This gives you time to get any rentals you may need and pick
up any gear that you haven’t brought with you!
Our professional mountain guides will decide the best place to ski each day. Your first morning will start with an in-depth avalanche safety briefing and training. This will give you the confidence to use your equipment
with the aim of giving you more skills and knowledge to take away with you
at the end of the trip. From here we will potentially ski at any of the 9 resorts within the Hakuba Valley and also other non-ski field access backcountry locations, which we do not wish to disclose here.
Wind up the trip with a day of free skiing and or transfer back the
airport or your next destination
I am a mountain guide from New Zealand and have been chasing winters between New Zealand and Japan for 15 years.
I have an intimate knowledge of the local mountains and there is a huge variety of terrain and routes to choose from each day.
I have also developed a close connection to the Japanese ski community, the local culture and the people that make Japan such a special place to visit. I hold the cultural aspect of our ski trips as a very important factor in tying together any trip.
Best day of skiing of my life. It exceeded my expectations. Excellent guide and communication prior to the trip. I highly recommend.
Hi, since you insist to get feedback I am happy to give some. I am afraid to say our guide Luis absolutely didn’t meet the expectations. I expect 3 things from a back country guide. 1. Be friendly, communicative and show you are happy to offer customers a great experience . 2. Adapt the experience on the spot to the level of the customers 3. Know the area where you go skiing. None of the 3 items above were met so our group was very disappointed to have spend that much money on a day like this. As a consequence we would not recommend your organisation to others. Perhaps your guide had a bad day or a hangover but if I was the owner I would expect more from my employees. Please note that we don’t refer in this review to our French help guide Cedric who did a good job
