    Itinerary

    Day 1: Approach & Orientation

    We begin with a gear check in Mount Shasta City, then make our way to base camp on foot. Once settled, we review the itinerary and introduce essential movement techniques on snow. The day wraps up with a satisfying alpine dinner.

    Day 2: Ascent to 50/50 Camp + Snow Travel Skills

    We climb to a higher camp and dedicate time to learning vital snow travel techniques—focusing on proper footwork, ice axe use, and self-arrest in multiple scenarios.

    Day 3: Glacier Travel & Crevasse Rescue Practice

    This day is all about rope systems and rescue preparation. You’ll train in:

    • Rope handling and coiling
    • Setting snow anchors and performing glacier belays
    • Ascension techniques and managing crevasse falls
    • Simulated rescue scenarios and team coordination

    After an early dinner, we turn in early—summit day starts before sunrise.

    Day 4: Summit Attempt

    With a pre-dawn alpine start, we push for the summit via the Red Banks. You’ll apply your training in real-time, working as part of a rope team to safely reach Mount Shasta’s 14,180-foot peak.

    Day 5: Descent & Debrief

    We enjoy a slower morning, then descend to town with new skills, lasting memories, and the pride of a challenging ascent.
