The Adriatic shoreline is a paradisiacal place, and rock climbing is an incredible way to discover it. Some of these options include climbing in Paklenica, Hvar island and Omis in Croatia, climbing in Osp, Slovenia, and climbing in Italy.

Keep in mind that this is not a rock-climbing trip for beginners, however, it is open to those with little experience ready for a multi-pitch climbing challenge, level 5a. Additionally, a good fitness level is necessary. Of course, I will be there to help and guide you on the way.

Mountain Guide

Hi! I'm Renato, IFMGA guide from the Dolomites, and I work together with my colleagues Robert, Patrick & Walter (German speaking), Paolo, Matteo, Davide, Giorgia and Luca.

If I'm not available to guide you, one of them will take care of you.

I was born in 1961, I live in Campitello di Fassa, in the Dolomites, together with my family. I have two sons, one is a mountain guide, the other is a ski instructor. I am a certified mountain guide since 1982, an instructor of guides, alpine ski instructor and a Federal coach for ISEF.

Being in the mountains has always been my passion, guiding people, teaching them climbing, mountaineering... during the various seasons of the year. I very much enjoy drawing nice curves in fresh powder snow and discover the charm of the frozen waterfalls.

My curriculum and professional mountaineering is made of many ascents and some openings of routes in the Dolomites and the Alps. I climbed in Yosemite Valley (California), Ben Nevis (Scotland) and Norway, Greece, Spain and Sardinia. I did also several high altitude climbs like Mt Denali (Alaska), Ama Dablam (6828m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Manaslu (8163m), Shivling in India (6545m), Cotopaxi and Chimborazo in Ecuador (5897m and 6310m), Patagonia (Argentina).

Feel free to get in touch with me if you are coming in the Dolomites for skiing (alpine, freeride and ski touring), rock climbing, sport climbing and multi pitch climbing. It will be my pleasure to guide you here and let you discover my secret spots.

What people are saying about Renato & Guides' team

Patrick the guide, was such a superstar. He was very patient, had a back up plan (as the weather forecast showed that it could be stormy over the initial route), and shared useful tips during the climb. Patrick allowed me to figure things out by myself before he offered if I wanted any help from him. I appreciate this as I like to try before getting any assistance. He trusted me just like I trusted him and that's perfect. All in all, I had a pleasant experience!

Robert was approachable, reassuring, and knowledgeable. We were confident in his abilities to keep us safe and lead us on a fun expedition. 10/10 would recommend Robert!

Gregory

Robert was an excellent guide for our 2-days of via ferrata in the Dolomites. This was our first time doing via ferrata, and thanks to Robert, we were able to focus on enjoying our trip. Robert is a highly experienced and passionate mountain guide, and he did a great job of assessing our climbing experience level to choose routes that were appropriately challenging and enjoyable. My wife and I would absolutely recommend Robert as a via ferrata guide without any reservations. On our second day, we climbed a route with snow at the top, and we saw people who were bailing because they lacked the proper equipment for a safe descent. Thanks to Robert's experience and planning, we were prepared and were able to complete the entire route. My only recommendation for people looking to book a VF is to be completely honest with your guide about your skill level and/or experience. If you oversell or undersell your level, you might not have the best day on the mountain. The guides aren't mind readers, and they need to match people to the best routes so that you can have a great time. Don't forget that the climbs are at altitude, and that the whole day includes the VF route, as well as the (potentially long and cardio-heavy) approach and descent. We would absolutely book with Robert again in the future and recommend him to anyone considering a mountain experience in the Dolomites. Thanks Robert!

Daniela

Very friendly guide and a beautiful climbing experience. I had no multi-pitch climbing experience before and learned a lot.
